2005-12-03 Homegrown Wedding Flowers
You might have noticed I like plants.
So it might not surprise you that I'd like to have potted flowers at my wedding. LOTS of them.
It's really very sad to have dead flowers, and I imagine after a wedding there would be LOTS! And it would be EXPENSIVE! So my plan? Taking over my dad's yard with pots and pots and pots of flowers. This way, we get to enjoy them for more than one day, they're cheaper (seeds or floral arrangements? no contest!) and I get potted plants, and it would be way more personal!
My only concern is that for some reason, none of the plants will bloom. If they were budding but not blooming, at least I'd have some green, but if they were all sparse or dead, then I'd have a huge problem!
I can't find much on the Internet about anyone who's done this. Successful or otherwise, so I guess I'm gonna get suggestions from 'real' people ;)- - Daddy? Probably a little prayer and good luck would help too!
Another thing I thought would be neat is a flower headband. Bright coloured flowers would look neat with a white dress, don't you think? Maybe I should talk to a florist. I could have some bought, and some grown flowers. That would cover all my bases, so I wouldn't have to stress about all my flowers being perfect :) And they'd probably know which flowers would take more than 10 minutes to die if I had them in my hair.
Hey, are there any experienced florists around here who'd like to offer free advice? ;)
