2008-12-06Diego a Love StoryThis story begin 6 years ago in the spring of 2002. We first meet Ferninand (Diego) at a bird show in Mid-Pennsylvania. My wife, Teresa fell in love with him and really wanted to buy him. The price was $500 which was more than our car payment that was due. So practicality won over emotion and we did not buy the bird. About 6 weeks later at a bird show in Lancaster, PA. We again saw Ferninand, who by the way, is a blued headed Pionus. We knew then that we were meant to be owned by Ferninand. We made payment arrangements and took him home. On the way we and our friends, Iris and Miguel stopped at a restaurant and of course took the bird in with us. I think it was at the restaurant we decided to rename Ferninand Diego. Deigo was supposed to be Teresa's bird. I had recently purchaged a new born Peach Front Conure, who we had not brought home yet from the breeder. I named him Kiwi, when I bought him home. Anyway, Diego soon chose me to be his favorite human and I grew to love him very much.
