MY FRIEND & BUSINESS PARTNER BISHOP Bishop, my service dog, has moved on to his other job. I miss him more than I can describe. He worked until his last day with me. I didn't want or expect him to work. Service dogs enjoy their jobs & will do as much as possible for as long as possible. Bishop alerted for someone at the door & showed me where I needed to go. I encouraged this because I didn't always hear someone knocking. Many, many times with tail wagging & much enthusiasm Bishop let me know to answer the door. Another of his very favorite activities was to get my shoes and put down the foot rests of my powerchair. Even if he didn't do any of this he was 1 in 1 0 million. With a huge heart for helping, love & caring, the joy of living in the moment, & a zest for life, Bishop ranked number one in my heart. Learning fast how to be a super superior service dog came naturally to him. Even though he was exhausted from trying to breathe, he still wanted to live to be my helper. I believe he was stoic & worked hard to conceal that he had a problem because the vets could not believe he was in as serious a condition & were very much surprised that his lungs had such an advanced stage of cancer. Brave 'til the end, my best friend & helper died at the age of 4 years old. I miss you, Bishop :-((((((((((((( January 2003 to Sunday September 2, 2007 There is much about our relationship that needs to be said, however, at this time it is too very upsetting to write. Bishop was that rare one-in-10-million & worth more than that to me as a friend, Helper, & calmest, kindest lovingest spirit ever to be here even for a short time. Thankfully, you did not suffer for months or even close to a month. I wish this had not happened to you for you did not deserve to be this ill so soon. You were such a very good boy. Many minutes & hours you were quietly on call should I need your help. I know there was a reason why you had to leave so soon. Perhaps it was because while waiting to hear what was going on with you, I met a lady who also was waiting for news about her dog. She & her friend gave a pastry to me which I didn't eat because I'd lost my appetite after losing you. I didn't want to go home so stayed around talking with people. One couple received news about their dog after hours of waiting. They were concerned about getting across the Bay Bridge because of traffic & so, the pastry went to them. They were exceedingly grateful because this would mean that the husband wouldn't have a diabetic reaction. After you moved on to your next job, I stayed for many hours at the emergency vets not knowing of any other place to go. Apparently I was supposed to be there. If you hadn't gotten so very, very sick, I wouldn't have met those people, they wouldn't have received the pastry, & the possible medical emergency would not have been addressed. I liked his spirit. He wasn't what could be stereotypically called "a dumb dawg" - he was smart. I was glad when Viv found Bishop; they seemed to be such a good team together. Bishop was the first dog that Viv had that was allowed to sleep on the bed, so that speaks volumes about how special he was. He kept Viv's back warm; a very valuable service for someone who suffers from both arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis. And he was company - joyous, giving company - asking for no more than to be well-cared for and loved on. Yup, Bishop, it's going to be precious hard to find another one quite like you. 	FINDING MY HEAD
Finally! At last I'm able to post here again. It is very good to be back even if on a very limited basis. Because of medical troubles rearing their ugly heads, I have been side lined for far too long. Fortunately I havn't lost my head. It is still attached in spite of the herniated disc at C5/6 and other medical challenges. I'm still rolling with the punches & have the right equipment. I use a power chair or electric wheelchair; not an electric chair as some people say. I usually can't resist mentioning that "I'd rather not be electrocuted." Bishop; my service dog, or (assistance dog), has been extremely attentive to my daily non activities. He really enjoys helping me by getting things (retrieving), opening and closing doors, drawers, refrigerator, washer, dryer, etc. All around "Handyman (dog)." He has even volunteered to have pictures taken of him working. This is a future project. I will let you know when this pictures of Bishop working are available for viewing. Now we are wearing collars. I just can't find my leash for my cervical collar. 	Business partner; BISHOP: MY HELPER
Bishop My best friend is a three year old chocolate lab who is my devoted business partner, companion, helper, & service dog. Bishop & I have been together for a little over a year. We met because of the terminex serviceman who I asked " do you know of anyone who knows of or has a golden retriever or lab looking for a home? I'm looking for a service dog." He told me that he had just been in a home where they mentioned looking for a home for their dog. Because the family grew, there wasn't enough time for Bishop. For his sake, they were looking for the perfect person for Bishop. He happened to be three years old according to the information the Terminex man had understood. I told him that three years old was too old to start a dog for service work & proceeded to turn around & leave. Suddenly I got the feeling that hands were trying to turn me around again so I turned again. Wait a moment! I caught him before he was gone. 	Picture This! Important For Business And Websites
I've started working on getting pics uploaded to the net. My biggest challenge is getting them the proper size so they will fit correctly on all the pages I want to post them on. I've tried three programs so far: Paint that came with windows, Mihov resizer, & Adobe (free version from the net). I'm not quitting! My next step with this project is to check out some appropriate forums. I checked out the Mihov Resizer forum & didn't see the information I was seaking. Perhaps I may post to the Mihov Resizer forum tomorrow. I needed to take a break from working on the pic uploading project. Absolutely! when you are working on a project which is going to take alot of time, don't forget to take a break so that you don't get burnt out & over whelmed. Keep things fresh as much as possible. Take many steps (move foreward on your time frame at a pace which works well for you). I'm going to visit the 10hits4unow forum & post this picture challange so that I'll get some advice & be able to get these pictures loaded quickly. If I need more informatio I will say so in the forum. When I find more forums which may be helpfull to me for this project I'll visit. Forums are a super great resource for information & there are usually forums available with every program you join. Even if you havn't joined a particular program, many times the forum is available to the public for reading. You would have to register following the forum requirements so that you can participate by posting. Sometimes you will have to register with the program &/or the forum in order to participate. I posted in the 10khits4unow forum about uploading pic's to the net. Now I wait & give people time to see my message, then perhaps they will post a reply, & after a little while I will return to the 10khits4unow forum & see what informatio is waiting for me. I'll let you know what I find.

FORUM: WEALTH OF INFORMATION FOR BUSINESS AND WEBSITES

FORUMS: What can you find for your business and websites?

There is a wealth of information and help with in forums which can be priceless. How often do you visit a forum to ask questions, find links to information and tools which would help you more efficiently promote your business, website, and you? Are you planning to join a traffic exchange, member site, or another internet offering?

Check as much information as possible about who are they, what are they doing, how are they doing this, why are they doing this (motivation).... Member participation in the forum and their comments can give an indication of how well the program is doing.

If the program is free to join & you have checked to see that it seems to be ok; if you have the time & are interested in joining; Sign up & give it a test drive. Track as much as possible your advertising & recruiting results so that you will know how compatable or how combatable this program is with your business plans.

Visit the forum often: read to learn as much as possible about promoting this program & related information. Post to the forum for answers to questions you may have. The only stupid question is the one you didn't ask. I have saved alot of time & effort by asking questions. Much better to have an answer that makes your work easier & faster instead of waisting hours trying to figure things out by yourself.

Did you know that many people dream of being published authors? Getting published is not easy to do if you go to a publishing company. There is alot of compatition. The other possibility is for you to publish your material by funding this expense yourself; expensive proposition with no guarantees. Poof! Dream goes up in smoke!!

BooHoo; Guess I'm not going to be a published author. WRONG! Very, very wrong! Join a forum, practice your writing skills so that you can effectively communicate using the written word, remember to proof read what you write in the forum, check your spelling, & do this on a regular basis. You will be helping people by answering their questions (only answer questions you have knowledge of for that subject), you will gain confidence & your writing will flow easier with less struggle, & as you get better at this you will probably join another forum where you can post & help more people.

What is the point of posting in a forum regulary? After posting for a while do a search of your name & then a search of your user name. If you have used your name & user name in your signature (Vivian Paff) (vpbanjo) like this Vivian Paff (vpbanjo) or linked them together some-how regularly, then you should see entries in the search enginges a little at a time as you hone your writing skills & get familiar with posting in different forums.

Please don't misunderstand, this will take work & dedication. After you feel comfortable in the forums, look at some blogs to get an idea about what they are & how they are written. This is a logical next step. And a giant step to get yourself branded on the internet. I'm getting ahead of myself. this being branded on the internet, blogging, writing stuff will be written about here in a later blog. :-( Please don't be disappointed.

CONGRATULATIONS! You are well on your way to becomming a published author! Usually the forum owners have their content & members content automatically; becuase of their posts in the forum; copy writen. People on the net read what you write in the forum. Now you have an easy access platform for your interested readers. Your writings, your readers, you're a published author.
