Preselling? What is that?

When writing our web copy and blog entries, we need to keep in mind the following information about preselling to our visitors.

Preselling can be seen as selling yourself to the customer before you sell your product. When you sell yourself to the customer, you are making your customers think - "okay, this person is not one of those greedy marketers. They are actually here to help me out." so that they will let their guard down and listen to your sales pitch.

Preselling is also the art of building up anticipation.  If a friend told you his chronic headache has been solved overnight by "some new medicine", but did not mention what it really was, would that leave you wondering what the medicine really is?

More so if you're having a chronic headache yourself!  That's why by mentioning a benefit which would get your prospects' ears perked up again and again but not really revealing what the solution is, you will get your prospects dying to hear what you have to say next as you reveal slightly more about the solution each time.

When you finally uncover the whole thing, your prospects will be crawling all over your website looking for the buy button!

However, preselling is not just about unveiling your product bit by bit. This is only one of the various ways one can presell. For example...

You might run a weekly newsletter on a certain “problem” and coincidentally you have just written this great ebook called "10 Ways to Solve ‘This Problem’ Once and For All". In your newsletter, you can presell by including a snippet or two from your ebook and mentioning it as a viable solution to the problem.

If people get good advice from your newsletter, they will perceive you as an expert and naturally will be curious to find out ways you can teach them to solve their problems.

At the end of the day, it all boils down to giving value to people before you ask people to fork out their cash to buy something from you or join your downline. If you can help people to solve their problems, they will, more often than not, be very willing to buy products from you.

One of the biggest problems I see online while surfing is
sites that are crammed with tons of banners, information
about 10-15 or more programs and other things.

I'm sure you've seen sites like these as well. I know when
I first started out online I did the same thing thinking that I
needed to advertise everything I was involved with.

So, what kind of sites should you be presenting to the online word?
Glad you asked!

We as online marketers need to make splash pages
with relative content that entices visitors to want to get
more information from us. We should have a sign up
form of some kind on them.  We need to be able to capture
visitor information so that we can conduct business with them.

Contact with customers and potential customers
is the most important thing in any business. If
you look at any large corporation you will see
they try to capture your information in many
forms. Many retail stores will ask you for your
phone number, or address.

When you buy products you always see a card that says
send this in with your name and address on it to receive
product updates. This is the offline
way of capturing leads.

The online way works very similar.

Your websites should ALL have eMail capture
forms. Now when I say eMail capture forms I do
not mean some malicious way of grabbing someones
eMail with out their permission.

I am talking about a nice form that says enter
your eMail and name here and join. You will need
to add a privacy policy. Many sites get away with
just saying you will not share the users details
with any third party.

So, you say "I don't have an autoresponder" ? Well, have
you checked out your downline builder and joined SEOSquid?
When you upgrade you get a FREE powerfull autoresponder
with all the bells and whistles....IP capture, personalization,
time stamp, date, you name it-this responder has it!  AND it i
s part of your upgrade package....an autoresponder with all of
these features (comparable to Get Response or Aweber)
would cost you a minimum of $25.00 monthly....just for the
autoresponder service.

BUT with SEOSquid you get so much more!  How about a
Splash Page Maker, A Banner Maker, FREE Ebooks,
Business Card Maker, a powerful and easy to use tracker
for any business you are in, Domain Hosting is included
as well as a personal banner rotator for any business you
are in, a personal webpage rotator, and I could name even
more, but I hope you get the point.

This is a program which cannot be equaled anywhere
on the net for the price! Get in now, take your business
to the next level with a program that provides
all the tools you need in one neat package.

Now, let me tell you a secret about your eMail
list.

Whatever you do, do not just send them
advertisements. This is how you will get people
to leave your list faster than joining them.

I am sure you have been on newsletters that send
ad, after ad. You know how long it takes me to
leave those lists? A few seconds

Treat your lists as they are the most valuable
thing you have, they are!

Until next time,

Toni Shrader
