When trying to build their personal contact lists, people often wonder how to get a conversation started with people. It seems that many people feel that they just don't know how to get the ball rolling.
And I can remember when I first started maketing online - the whole process did seem quite daunting! So how do you start a conversation with a stranger?
Actually, it's quite simple. When writing to people, write as though you are writing to a friend and don't try to sell them something right out of the gate.
Remember, first build the relationship and the trust, then worry about the sale. The key point is that in order to succeed online, you need a large personal contact list, and you need to communicate with your list regularly - which does not mean bombarding them with ads...
What you should do is pass on relevant information that you come across that will help them build their business, or marketing techniques and tools that will be of use.
Also, try to get to know people personally. Get a dialogue going by asking open ended questions that will require a response, such as: "How long have you been marketing online?" "What is your primary business?" "What tools are you finding work well for you" or make a comment on something that you have noticed about some element of their email.
For instance, does the email address itself tell you anything about your contact? Notice here: MomOfOne@example.ie. I can glean that this person is the mother of one child, and can open up the dialogue by asking how old her child is, boy or girl, how old, etc, and can relate to her as a parent myself. Or if the email address is: lovesoldcars@example.ie I would know that this person probably is an old card buff and would relate my knowledge (if any) about this subject. You can see how this could be very helpful in conversing with your contact list.
Use the above suggestions to strengthen your personal contact list, and remember, people who know and trust you are more likely to join you in business ;o)

Online Business Owner Survival Tips
2007-02-26 Posted at 11:58:21 AM
Online Business Owner Survival Tips Once you've signed up for what appears to be a great reliable internet business, you've already developed your strategy, selected your banners, and other materials for marketing. Once you've figured everything out, you may still have problems developing marketing strategies and find yourself wondering what's wrong. Below, you'll find some of the most common issues that affect sales commissions and leads. Soggy cookies A lot of merchants use cookies for tracking your referrals. As a majority of customers don't purchase on the first visit, cookies allow for potential referrals to be tagged with your ID so that if they do purchase later, you'll get the credit for the sale. The durations for the cookies will vary from merchant to merchant. Some last as short as a single session, while others can last for years. If the visitor flushes their cookies on a regular basis, has cookie blocking software, or the program from the merchant isn't operating correctly, there really isn't anything you can do. Multiple methods of payment If you've joined an reliable online program through a network that processes payments of products on behalf of merchants, it's not uncommon for merchants to offer several methods of payment. While this is great for customers, it's bad for affiliates. Before you begin to advertise any products or services as an affiliate of an online program, always check the merchant site carefully. If you have any doubt, contact the merchant before you proceedany further. Monitoring your arrangements Even the most honest of merchants will have problems with their affiliate software at some point in time. Therefore, it's important to regularly check cookies and merchant sites for any changes that may affect your pay. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Do you write articles? Ad Tracking Success
2007-02-21 Posted at 07:48:47 PM
It's no secret that there's a lot of money involved with an online internet business. This is only true however, for those who are serious and hard working on their onlne busines. The biggest part of succeeding depends on your perseverance and determination.
Even the best of online affiliate programs won't prosper if you don't build the business on a solid foundation. Nothing happens if the banners and links you place on a website just decorates the pages. You must convince visitors to click on the banner or link then proceed to the program to buy products.
Your marketing can be easy if you have planned your campaign well and have taken the right steps towards success. Choosing the right product and designing your website with banners and the right material are keys to making things happen.
An ad tracker is a software program that will allow you to trace and monitor every click that is made by visitors through your referral link. To make things even better, you know exactly where you placed the link. You can either use a service provider such as our own tracker provided in SEO Squid or purchase ad tracking software.
With ad trackers, you can monitor the progress of your campaigns, even advertising offline. If you have several affiliate accounts, this tool can be very good to have.
Each and every decision you make should be well grounded in facts. By using an ad tracker, you'll be able to generate traffic reports for your personal sales page. Armed with the proper knowledge and an ad tracking software program, you'll have no problems succeeding with a reliable online business.. It can be tough to get started - although once you start making money you'll be glad you took the chance!
I will send you a FREE Making Money With Articles series just for signing up! Just fill out the form below and upon conformation you will begin receiving your series.
I can assure you I hate spam as much as you, and would never sell, rent or abuse your email address in any way!

A day in the life of an online business owner
2007-02-07 Posted at 11:38:44 PM
A Day In The Life Of An Online Business Owner
Being an online business owner is not that hard now days with the internet at your disposable. It is much easier now compared to the days when people had to make use of the telephone and other mediums of information just to get the latest updates on the way their program was coming along. So with technology at hand, and assuming that the online business owner is working from home, a day in his or her life would sound something like this… Upon waking up and after having breakfast, the computer is turned on to check out new developments in the network. As far as this online business owner is concerned there might be new things to update and statistics to keep track of. The site design has to be revised. The online business owner knows that a well-designed site can increase sign ups from visitors. It can also help in the online business owner’s conversion rates. That done, it is time to submit their online business to directories that list online businesses. These directories are a sure way of promoting to attract people in joining your online business. Time to track down the sales you are getting from your online business fairly and accurately. There are phone orders and mails to track down. See if they are new clients checking the products out. Noting down the contact information that might be a viable source in the future. There are lots of resources to sort out. Ads, banners, button ads and sample recommendations to give out because the online business owner knows that this is one way of ensuring more sales. Best to stay visible and accessible too. The online business owner remembered that there are questions to answer from the visitors. This has to be done quickly. Nothing can turn off a customer than an unanswered email. To prove that the online business owner is working effectively and efficiently, inquiries would have to be paid more attention to. Nobody wants to be ignored and customers are not always the most patient of all people. Quick answers should appear professional yet friendly too. In the process of doing all the necessities, the online business owner is logged on to a chat room where he or she interacts with other online business owners and those under that same program. This is where they can discuss things on how to best promote their products. There are things to be learned and it is a continuous process. Sharing tips and advice is a good way of showing support. There may be others out there wanting to join and may be enticed by the discussion that is going on. There is no harm in assuming what opportunities are ahead. The newsletters and ezines were updated days ago, so it is time for the online business owner to see if there are some new things happening in the market. This will be written about in the online business owner’s publication to be distributed to the old and new customers. These same publications are also an important tool in keeping up to date with the newly introduced products. The online business owner has put up a sale and promotion that customers may want to know about. Besides, they have to keep up with the deadline of these sales written in the publications. It is that time to show some appreciation to those who have helped the online business owner in their promotions and sales increase. Nothing like mentioning the persons, their sites and the process they have done that made everything work. Of course, this will be published in the newsletters, among the more important information that has been written already. The online business owner still has time to write out recommendations to those who want credible sources for the products being promoted. There is also time to post some comments on how to be a successful online business owner on a site where there are lots of wannabees. Two objectives done at the same time. The online business owner gets to promote the product as well as the program they are in. Who knows, someone may be inclined to join. Time flies. Missed lunch but is quite contented with the tasks done. Bed time…. Ok, so this may not be all done in a day. But then, this gives you an idea of how an online business owner, a dedicated one that is, spends the marketing day. Is that success looming in the distance or what? Toni Shrader

Success Requires Focus
2007-02-03 Posted at 08:07:31 PM
"Success requires focus"
If you're trying to become successful by hopping from one program to the next, you're working against yourself. Why? Because you only have a certain amount of time, energy, and money that you can commit to promoting any program or business. These are your "promotion resources", and they're limited. That means if you're splitting your resources by promoting two different programs, the results for each of those programs will be reduced by half. That would be like opening a restaurant... but closing for two weeks every month. What would your chances be for success if you did that? About zero. And it gets worse if you're promoting more programs! If you're promoting three programs, each program will have only 33% of your resources... and lose the other 67%. That's a 67% reduction in new customers, sign-ups, affiliates, or whatever you're trying to achieve in that program. That's like having your restaurant open just ten days a month! It's hard to imagine, but I've seen some people trying to build four or five or even six different programs at once! They were desperately trying everything they could think of... but nothing was working. They were falling farther and farther behind in monthly fees for all those programs... and they were all failing. But wait a minute! All the experts and gurus say that you need "multiple streams of income" to be successful! They say that you shouldn't count on just one program or just one business in case it goes under. Isn't that good advice? Let's put it this way... if you were the owner of a program, and you knew that 99% of the people who see your website have already paid to join at least one other program, what would your advice to those people be? Would you tell them that their best chance for success is to focus on the program they've already joined? Probably not. You'd probably tell them that they need to join your program too... so they'll have a "safety net" in case the other program should fail. And even if it doesn't fail, if they join your program also, they'll have that wonderful phenomenon called "multiple streams of income". So is it any wonder that all the experts and gurus (who own the programs) are so enthusiastic in their endorsement of the "multiple streams of income" approach? Not really. But what they don't tell you is that by trying to promote both programs, you're causing your own failure in both programs. They don't tell you that because it's not important... to them. What's important is that you click that "Join Now!" button and send in your money. That's what they're interested in! So forget about trying to promote more than one program and remember this... "success requires focus". If you don't believe me, just ask any successful person you can find whether you should concentrate all your efforts on building one business... or scatter your efforts among a bunch of different programs.
I think we all already know the answer to that one!
Success requires focus.
By the way, have you checked out our MoneyLegs family of programs thoroughly? If so, you can see that by being in our "Family" you have the ability to make "Multiple Streams of Income" from just ONE program!
