Just a little tale to get you to thinking:

A factory Foreman decided to try delegating some of his management duties to his crew as a way to leverage both his skills and theirs.

He involved them in assigning each other to tasks, inspecting the quality of each others' work, seeing that the equipment and area was maintained, and other jobs he himself had done in the past.

Productivity went up, but so did managements antennae. One Vice President was especially skeptical. He warned against overestimating the workers capabilities, being too familiar with the workers, and risking a loss of control.

He asked the Foreman whether he wasn't afraid he'd lose his authority if his crew could do his job themselves.

The Foreman thought a bit and said,"Since I started giving it away, I never had so much authority." You see, what he had given up in control, he'd gained in motivation.

Let me ask you a very serious question. Where were you six months ago? What did your business look like? How much were you earning? Are you sitting in the same seat today, looking at the same screen, doing the same jobs, working on the same projects?

How about a year ago, or two years? Maybe you’ve been doing the same things over and over again for a long period of time? If that’s the case, there’s no doubt in my mind that the reason you joined this program is that you want to move forward and develop your business, make your life easier to live, more fun, and a more fulfilling experience.

There’s only one reason why you’re still here, and if you’re not making progress it’s because you’re not paying attention and acting on what’s said. Don’t get me wrong - I’m not calling you lazy, nothing that like. Sometimes we all get stuck in this loop of never ending work on a particular project, or keep going at something over and over again because we think it’s going to make us successful.

So here’s the thing. Stop right now, right this second and look at yourself and what you’re doing. In fact, do this at the start and end the end of every day. Have you made progress? If not, you’re doing something wrong, change what you’re doing.

Whoever your marketing role models are, they all have their little sayings and phrases they’ve conned to keep themselves in check, something like "just do it", from the old Nike ads, and I'm sure you can think of more, steal these phrases, use them for yourself, but whatever you do, follow our training and leadership; ditch the stuff that doesn’t work and get out there and start making progress, preferably today. That is, unless you want to be in exactly the same position next year. It’s totally in your hands, and you get only one chance at this.

Why not start this second? 90% of other readers won’t, but that’s fine, because it means more profit for you. Get out there, and grab what you want with both hands.

If you don’t, someone else will.

Byron Pitts is an award-winning journalist for CBS news. But there was a time in his life when a career in broadcast journalism seemed like an impossible dream, and Pitts appeared headed only for failure.

As a child, Pitts stuttered and struggled in school. By the time he reached sixth grade, tests revealed him to be “functionally illiterate.” But his mother provided him with tools to help him with his reading and gave him incentives to study harder. With her support, Pitts moved beyond remedial reading classes and made it through high school then on to college.

There he would face an even greater challenge....discouragement. Unable to make the grade, Pitts was placed on academic probation. To make matters worse, an English professor's response to his research paper was, “You're wasting my time and the government's money...You shouldn't be here.”

Fortunately, not everyone felt that way. Ulle Lewes, who ran the university's writing center, encountered a tearful Pitts in the administrative office. He was there to withdraw from his English class. After a brief exchange and a scan of that research paper, Lewes saw a bright young man with potential who'd never developed the proper study skills. She offered to work with him.

Pitts also received help from a fellow dorm resident, Peter Holthe. When Holthe learned that Pitts' goal was to be a news correspondent, Holthe suggested Pitts learn a new word every day and practice his pronunciation of it.

Holthe coached Pitts in role-playing exercises to help him develop his speaking skills and overcome his stuttering. Even though Holthe had doubts that Pitts could achieve his dream of reporting the news on the air, Holthe was still willing to help him.

Through Pitts' own determination and hard work, and with the encouragement and tutelage of some special people, he earned a degree in journalism and speech communications. He admits that he still has trouble reading. But that just means he's always the first one to grab the ticker that's coming across the wires.

Now, this ties in with the Paul Potts post I did a few weeks ago....why is it that some people are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their dreams while others especially people trying to make a living online just sit back and refuse to accept that ANY business (offline or online) requires work and dedication?

If you wouldn't dream of starting a business in your home town, knowing all that you would have to go through as far as monetary layout, education, license fees, etc., why would you think starting a business online would be any different. Yes, there is the fact that online communication can be a little cheaper....BUT don't think that spamming people will get you ahead...it will just make them steer away from anything you are doing that MIGHT be worthwhile.

Dig in, study all our training ebooks, attend our online classes, and finally make the decision to properly run your online business.

If you have thought of offline advertising, college newpapers and bulletins are a great
start.....here is an overview and resources if you would like to pursue this strategy.

Colleges have tremendous circulation of their bulletins and
newspapers. Their price per run on advertising is very
inexpensive for the number of prospects reached. Believe it or
not, multi-millions of dollars are spent by students each
semester.

If you have a new idea or product, run a test ad in one or more
of the publications and see if you get results. Usually a less
expensive 1" ad will let you know whether your product or
service is going to pull or not. If your test ad proves
successful, then you may want to go to a larger ad or even a
display-type ad and increase your coverage to include more
bulletins and newspapers.

Another way to distribute your product is to advertise for a
student on campus to represent you on a commission basis and be
your dealer. Usually there are several students who would love
to have the opportunity to make some extra money. A good way to
find the right person is by resume qualifications or actually
calling them on the phone and talking it over with them.
Finding the key person could result in many easy dollars in your
pocket.

In the past, some of the biggest sellers on campus have been
radio and stereo equipment, music tapes, car repair manuals,
study aids, self-improvement booklets and tapes, school fads of
various natures, and any kind of special or different steins for
drinking beer. Any new idea or product you may be able to come
up with could be very advantageous to you in the form of
increased sales.

Advertising in college bulletins and newspapers gains more
results during the first three days of the week. When ordering
advertising, it is best to specify that your ad appear in the
Monday-Wednesday editions. Thursday is okay, but Friday is
definitely out; minds seem to drift toward plans for the
weekend, leaving little interest for purchasing.

Write to the enclosed list of publications. Ask for their rates
and circulation. All of them will respond to your needs and
many of them will call you and discuss whatever plans you have
for advertising. They will work with you to try to see that you
get the most response from any type ad you may run.

We sincerely hope this report helps you in gaining sales and is
an instrument in the growth of your company. You cannot beat
the circulation of prospects reached for the dollars spent.

Everyday there are people all around the world living their dreams. Some are making millions of dollars, some are experiencing growth in their relationships with family and friends, some are becoming healthier and thus will be living longer. AND some never stop learning, they keep their minds active and learn, learn, learn, thus will become more and more successful.

Have you ever looked at someone with alot of money and wished you were therm? We online marketers see these so called "gurus" who make money hand over fist while we struggle with our online efforts. Somewhere each and every day someone is getting wealthy, they will make a great investment or do some other wealth building tactic....so I ask you....WHY NOT YOU?

Every day someone will improve their relationships. They will learn to love their family more deeply, build a deeper friendship with their current friends ...so I ask you....WHY NOT YOU?

Many times every day somewhere in the world someone is going back to school to improve their learning, or they will read a book or listen to a CD, anything to improve their learning ...so I ask you....WHY NOT YOU?

Every day someone will look in the mirror and see that they need to lose some weight and they will make the decision to change. They will start slowly join an exercise class, start to eat healthier, and build up to run their first marathon...so I ask you....WHY NOT YOU?

Are you starting to get the point? Everyday people are making life-changing decisions. They aren't worried if you do or not, they have made their decision and will stick with it ...so I ask you....WHY NOT YOU?

So I'm sure you're wondering how you can apply these principles to yourself.

Welll, you have a decision to make every day of your life....do you want to improve or do you want to stay the same? Here is a cute story I came across and feel it pertains to all of us online marketers as we deal with our clients and downlines.

A woman went to court and told the judge she wanted a divorce.

"Do you have any grounds?" the judge asked.

"Just two acres," she said

"That's not it lady, I mean do you have a grudge?" the judge said.

"No, we park the car in front of the house" she replied.

By now the judge was frustrated. "Does your husband beat you up?"

She replied: "No, I get up before he does."

"Then why do you want a divorce?" the judge asked.

"Because," she confessed, "we just don't seem to be able to communicate."

We need to be able to communicate with them on a level they can and will understand. We need to know that we are getting through to them the information that they need to make a change in the way they are using their time, talents and money on the Internet.
