in 1919 two events happened that created the Packers.

1) Curly Lambeau not Nate Abrams was choosen as the Team Captain.   A favorite player of the time , but doesn't sound right Abrams stadium :)

2)The "City's team" was sponsored by the Indian Packing Company and so the team name became the "PACKERS" for those who packed meat for a living

In 1992 The Falcon's gave up on Brett Favre seeing no future in him I guess:) 14 years later Brett is still the starting quarterback. Led the Packers to two superbowl's, Won Superbowl 31 but lost  SB 32. He is a three time winner of the MVP. A leader both on and off the field. What about the Falcons they went through 11 quarterbacks. Good thing they thought Brett didnt have it  Thanks Atlanta !!

Curly Lambeau died (01-Jun-1965).So who was Curly Lambeau?Curly Lambeau orgainized and founded the Packers with the support of local meat packing firms.Hence the name Packer's.He was a Player and their first coach, in the beginning he had both postions.Without Lambeau influence the Packers would never have been created! One of the founding teams in football. Second oldest team with onlty the bears being older.It is no wonder that the Packer's play in Lambeau field.
