Downline Integrity: What it means to you2007-12-02 Posted at 11:36:11 AMDownline Integrity: What it means to you as a member of a traffic exchange. There has been a lot of talk lately in the traffic exchange industry about downline integrity. Its a hot topic, and it has been quite interesting reading. I wanted to take a moment here, and express my views and how I feel downline integrity affects members. The word integrity from the unabridged dictionary means: adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty. With this definition in mind, and applied to the traffic exchange industry and affiliate programs it draws a fine line. I don’t necessarily think program owners that don’t follow downline integrity are dishonest or unethical, but utilize a different business model in that their program members are their list. However, as a member I would appreciate the same opportunity to advertise to my downline in their program as the owner. If an owner uses his member base as his own personal list, how do I as a member benefit? He finds a program that is new and looks to be promising. So, he sends an email to the entire member base, with his affiliate url attached. This means that the 130 members that I brought into the program will first be introduced to this new program through him. How does this benefit me as a member? Would it not benefit you as a member more, if the owner of a traffic exchange introduced the new program to his members, and sent them to a downlne builder built into the exchange? This is how the downline integrity model works. As long as my affiliate url is in place, I would get the signups to that program. the owner would still get signups from those members that had not filled in their affiliate url, but at least he has given me that opportunity. Most owners will tell you the best way to market is to build your own list and downline builders don’t work. They will give you all these ways to build your list, but yet use their traffic exchange membership as their list.. kind of a do as I say, but not as I do approach… they say we pay you with credits or cash to bring in new members and help me build my list. Don’t be fooled by trafic exchange owners that use this approach. They are not necessarily looking out for your best interests, but their own. As an advertising media, a traffic exchange owner should be worried about its advertisers and the results they are getting, not how many members there are and what can I send to them to make my next $$$. Thats the promise of the Downline Integrity Brigade. It looks out for your interest as a member of a traffic exchange. It limits the amount of advertising the owner can do directly to its members. It does not hinder the members ability to advertise or market, but actually gives you a better opportunity to increase their downlines in other programs. Web Biz Solutions is a proud member of the Downline Integrity Brigade. It lets you as a member know that Dan and I are dedicated to makng sure we are doing whatever we can to make sure your advertising succeeds with our programs. You will never receive an email from our programs advertising our affiliate urls. You won’t find our affiliate url imbedded in any of our sites, but most of all it lets you as members know that we concentrate on your advertising efforts being successful. We know if your successful, we are successful! Downline Integrity… its good for the members! http://www.web-biz-solutions.com This entry is mirrored at http://www.web-biz-solutions.com/blog Post Comment | Read Comments (3)
