A couple of decades ago it was nearly unheard of for a woman to ask a man to marry her. Today, nearly 10 percent of all marriage proposals are given by women. Michael Webb is one of the nation's top authorities on romance and relationships and his new book reflects that trend. The Romantic's Guide to Popping the Question contains many real life stories of women who turned the table and asked for her beau's hand in marriage. Webb recently ran a contest searching for the world's most romantic and creative marriage proposal stories and 9 percent of the 7300 entries were initiated by women. Over 100 stories of proposals by both sexes are included as well as some very valuable tips on how to make an ordinary proposal extraordinary. MOST "POPPING" IS A BUST ACCORDING TO RECENT POLL In a recent poll women ranked the day her boyfriend proposed as the most looked forward to event of her life, even before her wedding day. Sadly, in the same survey 85% of married or engaged women say the proposal they received was less romantic than they had anticipated. 81% said they would never tell their boyfriends.
