Household Tips2006-02-23 Posted at 12:53:38 AMHere are a few simple household tips Got lipstick on the collar? Try pretreating it by rubbing toothpaste into the stain, then wash as usual. Spilled a little red wine on your linens? Try soaking the fabric in 2 litres of warm water mixed with a teaspoon of liquid detergent for half an hour and then placing it in the washer in the hottest water safe for the fabric. Try some Borax for softening water and stain removal. Keep a little lemon juice on hand to use as a bleach and fabric whitener. Also have a glass of hot water with a little lemon juice in it to start your day if you are trying to keep your weight under control. Cedar chips and dried lavender sprigs will help keep away moths (and smell a whole lot better than moth balls.) Vinegar will remove mineral deposits in your iron and clean out your machines. It also works really well with baking soda to clean out your drains. Place tissue paper between the folds of duvets when you store them for the season. Check with your local newspaper office to see if they have tissue paper for sale. They might also have end rolls of newsprint paper that you can use for wrapping parcels, drawing on, making patterns, etc. When doing your laundry, don't forget to clean your lint trap frequently. Clogged lint traps can cause fires. I hope that you find these tips useful. Find out about earth and family safe cleaning products Post Comment | Read Comments (0)
