Genealogy !! My Pet Subject..
01:29:20 AM - 2005-12-30
For the next few days Iam going to spend a little time on Listing a number of ways to Avoid Genealogy Grief for the Newbies setting out on Researching their Family Tree's,
Always Note the Source of Information that you Recorded, Photocopied or took Notes on.Date it too. (So you know where to go back to Clarify information if needed later).
Talk to all your Older-Generation Relatives (before they're all gone and you're the older Generation). Even Distant Relations can be a Goldmine of Information about your Ancestors.
Keep Copies or Backup's of all Letters,Emails, etc you send or receive. This will save you from wondering which of your Correspondents Questions you're already answered and which of your Questions they have or haven't answered. (This goes for all your Moneylegs Group Programs too)
The Long And Short of it all it Pay's to keep Records

Genealogy !! My Pet Subject.
Elsie,
I have to say this is really good solid help and advise. And as you say. For ANYONE who is thinking of building a serious online presence within MoneyLegs.com a real must.
Unfortunately it is one lesson I had to learn the hard way. Many a time I found myself with my foot in my mouth, and I know I am not alone in this lesson, but no names lol, they know who they are.
Pay's to keep Records
You are obviously a very well organised lady, and by the looks of it you also have a lot of useful and interesting information to share.
Now! About these insects lol. How do you cope? And have you had any nasty experiences? You also have a few uninviting reptiles in New Zealand I hear. I used to keep a Tarantula Spider and a Royal Python Snake, which is why I'm interested I guess.
I can understand you NOT wanting to trade places with me at the moment Elsie as all I seem to be doing is walking around going Brrr! lol. I think you live in a wonderful part of the world and funnily enough it's where they filmed the latest blockbuster movie King Kong (Which I have written a Blog on. If you wished to read it, it's at: http://www.blogestates.com/blog/Clive_Anderson )
I've already added you to my friends list on C261262 blog and will be adding you shortly to my Clive_Anderson one. I'd love to be on your friends list, thank you.
Best Wishes and a HAPPY NEW YEAR...
Clive Anderson

Genealogy, what a fascinating subject. I know our family has albums full of old photos but sadly very few names to go with the faces. What sparked your interest in genealogy?

Now about those Insects (what Insects)?
As for Tarantula Spiders I have never seen one in New Zealand.
Definitely no Snakes! That Australia.
About the only thing you have to watch out for when tramping out in the Backblocks is a Wlid Boar (Pig)or a Big Billy Goat on a Ridge. No New Zealand is a Great Place to live in.
I LOVE IT.
I will read your Blogg on King Kong as I have seen it yet. |

I read your Blogg on King Kong you have much more knowledge of it than I have.
I live about 60 Kms from a Picture Theatre,so most likly will see it sometime on Sky TV
Have you seen The Last Samurai? (Tom Crews) that film was made about 10 Kms from where I live near Uriti in Tatanaki.
I will be putting a Photo of the Country side I live in soon in (My Photo Gallery) in Blogestates as soon as I work it out how to make it smaller.
Do you have Tarantula Spiders where you live?
Hope it has Stopped Snowing and is a little warmer for you. |
