Genealogy!! 2nd Part for Newbies
03:16:56 AM - 2005-12-31

Always respond to Letter's,Emails etc as you receive them.If you don't have time to write  a detailed reply, send a quick message to acknowledge receipt and let them know when you'll send a more complete reply, Then be sure to reply back as promised.

Be Precise when making Notes and especially when Sharing Information with others, When encountering information that differs in dates like a Birth on a GraveStone, or a Birthdate told by some family member about a particular person, they may be both wrong.
Note the Source for each piece of information,Further Research  may reveal a more credible Birthdate for example the one on a Birth Certificate,Alway be sure you have it right before sharing with anyone it may save a lot of problems later on.

BEWARE of Mail-orders Promotions offering what might say it is a Personalized Genealogy of your Surname. These Books are NOT Properly Researched and Documented Genealogies, instead they are often little more than Lists of names from Phone Directories or any other readily available Sources.Hope this information helps anyone thinking of doing Study on their Families History, which you can have a Great Feeling of Satisfation when you learn something New..

Genealogy !! My Pet Subject..
01:29:20 AM - 2005-12-30

For the next few days Iam going to spend a little time on Listing a number of ways to Avoid Genealogy Grief for the Newbies setting out on Researching their Family Tree's,

Always Note the Source of Information that you Recorded, Photocopied or took Notes on.Date it too. (So you know where to go back to Clarify information if needed later).

Talk to all your Older-Generation Relatives (before they're all gone and you're the older Generation). Even Distant Relations can be a Goldmine of Information about your Ancestors.

Keep Copies or Backup's of all Letters,Emails, etc you send or receive. This will save you from wondering which of your Correspondents Questions you're already answered and which of your Questions they have or haven't answered.
(This goes for all your Moneylegs Group Programs too)

The Long And Short of it all it  Pay's to keep Records

Stormy Weather in Taranaki!
03:46:50 PM - 2005-12-10

Was looking forward to Conference on 8 Dec with BackHoleSeries.Just got connected  to the Conference, the skies open, thunder and lighting started rolling across the skies, needless to say I had to quickly exit, from the Internet, as living out in the hills at the back of Taranaki ,I have no modem protection to my very poor Dialup Connection.
Over 100 mm's fell in a few hours and the Urenui River rise very Quickly.
Thought we were going to have Flooding again like we had in May.
Water all around our house and Our shed & Sleepout Flooded it took 3 months to cleanup that mess,Trees where laying everywhere the ground is just getting back to pasture.
Thankgoodness it didn't happen this time.
It is the11 Dec now and it is still raining on and off, expecting Heavy rain again this Afternoon,Keeping my finger crossed that we don't get too much as Christmas is just around the corner.
The Weather is so Humid,Dec the first month of Summer here in New Zealand.
Thinking about all you reading this Blog, if you live in some part off the world that is having Winter.
Do you enjoy having a White Christmas?

Hi to all my Upline and Members of MoneyLegs Series Reading my Blog.
I would like to have a few more freinds added to my List on my Blog ,Please leave a  comment and I will add you and make sure I read your Blog.

Do a Google Search!
04:05:26 PM - 2005-12-03

This morning I attended a Blackhole Marketing Conference,I have only been a MoneyLegs Member for about five weeks now and Iam learning something new everyday ,but attending the Conference I learned about using the Google Search Engine by typeing my name ( Elsie Hagley)  in the search box ,I was so surprised I couldn't believe in I was in Google 778 entries mainly because I do Genealogy, but I will be working on increasing my name by tens of thousands in the very near future by continueing my learning kerb by be coming a member  in ( 3Step.com) part o BlackHole Series in MoneyLegs as soon as I join.
Upgrade and start working on having my own Website by following the great advice I am getting from my Upline and of course our Great Leader Doug Williams.
So try a Google Search on your name, you may get a surprise like I did.
