Greetings!

Well how about all that wind then?

I tried going out to the library on Thursday morning, to get my weekend reading.  I actually got out of the entrance door without it taking my arm off!  But then I was pinned by the wind against the revetment.  As I hung in the wind wondering what to do it started raining, which settled the question...I was going back inside!!

So i managed to turn round and let the wind blow me back to the entrance, and after a short wrestle managed to get back inside.

Later as I was having a mug of tea, I heard what sounded as though someone was banging a sheet of metal across the road.  Putting down my mug I went to the window just in time to see the roof of the lockup garages across the road lift into the air and sail into the road!  Luckily there was no-one in the area at the time.

I also later saw an old boy stuck by the wind against a wall across the road, he walks slightly better than I do, but he was still in an awful situation, because as the wind held him there, it started to rain!!  Oh dear!
He must have got soaked!!  I'll have a word with him the next time I see him.  There was little I could do, if I'd have gone out, I'd have been blown away before getting to him.

Now we are promised colder weather.  It seems to me to be often like this.  First we get soaked, then it freezes, just to make life interesting I suppose.

Anyway, I have enough reading to get me through the weekend.  Which reminds me, I'm in the process of having to thin out my library as there may be a possible move later in the year, and books are very heavy to move!  But I'll post the details later.
