Virginia Tech Tragedy Stirs Gun Control Debates

The recent tragedy at Virginia Tech, April 16, 2007 - not surprisingly - has stirred many a debate on gun control in America.

Relating closely to the agony the Hokies suffer, we are at once deeply saddened and incredibly infuriated. It's inevitable that we need to try to find solutions to prevent this  atrocity from ever happening again.

And invevitably, this will lead to lobbying for new, stricter gun control laws.

As most of you know, Amendment II of the Bill of Rights guarantees the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, and shall not be infringed. No one has the right or authority to violate that right.

There is no doubt that some 'action' is needed, but we must be careful that in response to our anger and frustration, the rights of the American people are not infringed upon by 'reaction,' as predicted by Smiley Webb: What do you want to bet that the anti gun legislation is going to come out strong. Read more here.

So what is the solution?

Please join us in discussion at CYN and TheMembersForum and let's see if we can't come up with some ideas to bring to the attention of our Representatives; contributing to overcoming this tragedy with thoughtful 'action', rather than responsive 'reaction' - and in keeping America the free nation it was meant to be.

God bless the Hokies and God bless America!

From Republic to Democracy = From Freedom to Fascism?

A recent discussion has given me pause to ponder how many Americans are aware that this country was founded as a Republic, and not a Democracy? There are fundamental differences, that many may not be aware of.

Does any American know when our "Republic" became a "Democracy", or have we been so gradually brain-washed that we're not aware of the differences?

Repubic / Democracy

* Flag of the U.S. of A., title 4 USC, Chpt.1 / Yellow Fringed Flag of U.S., ie. Military Ensign

* Sovereign People / Federal Personnel

* People Created State / State Created "Persons"

* The State / State of

* Dejure / Defacto

* Lawful / Legal

* Common Law [Constitution] under Nature's God / Statutes, Codes, etc. 5 USC 552-Soc. Sec

* Trial by Jury of Peers / Judge decides "law"

* Lawful Money [Gold, silver] / Commercial Paper [Frauds]

* Liberty & Freedom / "Rights & Privileges"

* Unalienable Rights / Licensure & Fees

* Electors / Voters

* Place Travelers / Licensed "Drivers"

* Peace Officers / Law Enforcement Officers

* Due process / Public policy

* "Bill of Rights" protections / "Civil Rights"

* Alloidal Land ownership via patent / Property pledged as collateral for Int. debt

* Personal responsibility / Limited Liability

* Church [under Christ] / 501C3 State Business

* Marriage Covenant / Marriage License

* Freedom of Religion / Freedom from Religion

This is only a partial list but clearly shows the differences. Could this have taken place about the time the Federal Reserve/IRS took over the control of our country?

Could the transition from Republic to Democracy = Freedom to Fascism?
