If some have their way, one-third of the Modern Library's list of 100 best novels of the 20th century would be banned. The list includes Ulysses by James Joyce, The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Catch 22, by Joseph Heller, Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley, Animal Farm, by George Orwell, The Sun Also Rises, by Ernest Hemingway, From Here to Eternity, by James Jones, and John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath.
