Pittsburgh Steelers Prepare for Draft

Yes friends, the NFL draft is upon us. So who will our beloved Pittsburgh Steelers Draft in the first round? Well, I believe many in this city believe that the Pittsburgh Steelers  should draft the running back from USC by the name of LenDale White. Seems LenDale may have some character issues, and the Pittsburgh Steelers, being such a family oriented organization, probably will shy away from that pick. With the retirement of Jerome Bettis, and the injury plauged Duece Staley being the air-apparant big back to complement Super Bowl hero Willie Parker; the Pittsburgh Steelers may check out the Free Agent Market for a backup for El-Duece. Rumor has it the the Pittsburgh Steelers have their eye on USC Strong Safety Darrell Bing for their first pick. We shall see. Here is more info and inside scoop on the  Pittsburgh Steelers upcoming draft.

The Pittsburgh Steelers - A Memory

Wasn't sure what to write tonite about the Pittsburgh Steelers  tonite so I figured I would just scan the old memory bank for something..................let's see...................going back in the way back machine.........

The Pittsburgh Steelers were  known as such tough guys in the 70's - - - that is how most people see them. When I was getting Confirmed in the Catholic Church as a Ninth Grader, one of our classmates announced that their Uncle, Jack Ham, was their sponsor. Oh, we knew that this kid's story checked out but were still skeptical that a big tough Pittsburgh Steeler would come to a church event dressed in a suit! Maybe he would come in full gear; and take a run at the Bishop.  (Kidding of course.)

Anyway, the funniest part is that Jack came; and guess who he sat right down next to. Yes, the star of previous Pittsburgh Steeler blogs, my Grandfather. Well, Grandpap, the biggest Pittsburgh Steeler fan of them all, had no clue who he was sitting next to. Gives me chills just thinking about it now. When I told him later he just waived his hand and said    "No Way!". Never believed me. Maybe there is a Blog reader in Heaven...........hope so! Grandpap, it's true.
