Rob tells us that one of the most important things we need to do during follow ups is to get to know our leads. We learn where they live, how many kids they have (if they have kids) what their interests are. Those are all very important things. But after spending over 3 hours on the phone with my new lead last night I found out something that is vital to learn also. And it's not easy to do. It's called Learning ability!
After the first hour last night I was getting pretty irritated, he kept asking me to go over the same things over and over again. At the time we were going over how to post his url's in 10khits4unow. Simple right? Then he told me something that made me feel like a real idiot. He started apologizing over and over for having me repeat things. Then he said "I am so sorry, I have a learning disability and sometimes I don't grasp things right away. But if you will work with me I will try real hard to do what you say". I FELT TERRIBLE for the things I had been thinking. To him I said NO problem, MY JOB as your sponsor is to HELP you in any way I can and that's what I am going to do.
I spent 2 hours with him this afternoon, and he feels now he wants to try promoting 10k and Moneylegs. And he asked me what the Credit Bank meant. So we slowly went over it. He might not have grasped the whole aspect of it, but that's ok. We can work on it some more, until he does understand it.
Sometimes we are in such a hurry to get people signed up, UPGRADED and off on their own so we can get on to the next thing. Or get back to surfing or what ever that we forget NOT everyone can understand things or grasp things as fast as we can. A lot of times people won't tell us they have a problem, but if you really LISTEN you can tell. But sometimes you have to listen with your heart as well as your head. Don't automatically assume when someone keeps asking you the same questions or wanting you to tell them how to do something over and over again it's because they are stupid or just trying to be a pain.
Now this person may not make it, I don't know. But I do know it sure won't be because we didn't BOTH try our best to make it happen. I have a really strong feeling that he will make it and he will be the best downline member I have ever had.
