The Better Idea

Have you noticed that everyone seems to have a better idea?

If you are a successful marketer, the "better idea" is to stay  with the basics that got you to where you are today.  If you  are not, however, getting the results that you need and/or  desire to fulfill your dreams you need to change something.

A few short months ago I was very discouraged about my  Internet experience, what I was thinking was not good. I had  forgotten about the dreams that I had for my ability to sustain  an income through Internet marketing so that I would not have  to work a regular 9 to 5 job when I came to the age of retirement.

The better idea for me and the reason I am here  is getting back to the basics by following the steps outlined in  Moneylegs, a program that I had joined  years ago.   I  took a closer look at what that program had to offer for my success,  not only in internet marketing, but in life itself.

First of all you cannot succeed without a plan and your plan must be  workable.

Moneylegs is the better idea, it has the tools necessary for you to succeed.

Join Moneylegs here today, keep your wallet in your pocket
and earn 10% commissions while you learn.

If you are a Moneylegs member go take a looksee at what is there for  you. You owe it to yourself and your business.  The better idea is right  in front of you.

Memorial Day - May 26, 2008

Memorial Day - A Day To Honor Respect Remember

Let us not forget those that gave so much that we might be free.

Marking the graves

The first official recognition of Memorial Day as such was issued by General John A. Logan, first commander of the Grand Army of the Republic. This was General Order No. 11 establishing "Decoration Day" as it was then known. The date of the order was May 5, 1868, exactly two years after Waterloo's first observance. That year Waterloo joined other communities in the nation by having their ceremony on May 30.

Excerpt from General Order No. 11 "The 30th day of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village, and hamlet churchyard in the land. In this observance no form or ceremony is prescribed, but posts and comrades will in their own way arrange such fitting services and testimonials of respect as circumstances may permit."

Waterloo, New York, a small community of approximately 5100 in Upstate New York will celebrate Memorial Day on Friday, May 30.  This has been a tradition for them for the last 142 years. Waterloo first celebrated Memorial Day on May 5, 1866, where plans were being made one year earlier on May 5, 1865 to remember those Civil War Veterans who gave up so much so that we could be free.

In 1868, Waterloo joined with other communities in holding their observance on May 30th, in accordance with General Logan's orders. It has been held annually ever since.

Waterloo held the first formal, village wide, annual observance of a day dedicated to honoring the war dead. On March 7, 1966, the State of New York recognized Waterloo by a proclamation signed by Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller. This was followed by recognition from Congress of the United States when the House of Representatives and the Senate unanimously passed House Concurrent Resolution 587 on May 17th and May 19th, 1966 respectively. This reads in part as follows: "Resolved that the Congress of the United States, in recognition of the patriotic tradition set in motion one hundred years ago in the Village of Waterloo, NY, does hereby officially recognize Waterloo, New York as the birthplace of Memorial Day..."

Honor, Respect, Remember

Where have you been and where are you going?

As I was growing up I can remember my grandfather telling me someday you could be President.

That was many, too many years ago but you soon realize that no matter how hard you work you never meet your expectations. I can remember thinking about what life would be like when I retired.

Being raised on a farm in a small community in upstate New York my working life began almost as soon as I could walk. I had chores to do starting at about 4:00 am and then getting cleaned up and ready to get on the school bus.  After school I still had chores to complete, whether it was cleaning my room, milking and feeding 40 to 50 cows everyday.

As I grew older and graduated from high school in 1959, I soon learned that the life growing up was very easy.

I had no idea back then that I would still be working a full time job at age 67. I have retired 3 times and it does not look like I will fully retire anytime soon.  After spending 4 years in the US Air Force, I spent 30 years building boilers for the power industry. Yes, boilers that I worked on are supplying the power that produces the power to your homes.

I retired from that and built gas stations and conveneant stores in Florida for 6 years that is where I met my wife Faye and we moved to Louisiana where I went to work for Family Dollar Stores, after seven years I retired and moved to Texas and went back to work for Family Dollar Stores because retirement funds did not pay the bills.

In the between all of that I got interested in the Internet in 1998 and bought a computer thinking that I could make a living on the Internet.  That didn't work as a means of supplementing my income, during that time I probably made a total of 10 dollars. So when I hear someone mention about retiring tomorrow because they have the best money maker on the internet I just have a good chuckle.

I am sure there are people who have made a good living off of the Internet. My dream has always been to be able to generate an extra income of 500 to 1,000 dollars extra a month so that I don't have to work a full time job at the rate of 60 to 70 hours per week and only get paid for 52 hours.

What is in a quotation?

"There's a basic human weakness inherent in all people which tempts them to want what they can't have and not want what is readily available to them." - Robert J. Ringer

What is it that Robert J. Ringer ment by his quote?

What is it that we cannot have that we want most desperately.

  • Create a life without the effort.
  • Letting someone else do it for you.
  • Be successful without working for it.
To be successful without working for it is like building a house without tools.

So what is it that you need to be successful?
  • To build a house you need a hammer to drive the nails that hold the pieces together.
  • But first you need something to drive the nails into, such as, lumber,
If you are reading this you must have a computer which is connected to the Internet somehow.
  • An internet connection is the hammer that drives the internet to your computer.
  • Without the internet you cannot communicate with someone wanting to find out about your business oportunity.
  • There are several ways of connecting to the Internet, dialup, dsl, cable, satalite, wireless, and probably many more.
  • Dialup and DSL connections are the most common and you can have varying degrees of success with each one.
Now that you have an Internet connection you need a website to promote your opportunity.
  • So you have a website but it is not getting traffic. No one is seeing what you have to offer.
  • If you can say Click Here, I will show you how to generate traffic to your opportunity.
  • You don't have an opportunity, we can help you with that also.
Building a business is not easy but it is not that difficult if you have and use the proper tools.

Tools and training can be found here.

Now let's read that quote again, "There's a basic human weakness inherent in all people which tempts them to want what
they can't have and not want what is readily available to them."

Which part of the quote relates to you? I hope it is the last part and you can say Click Here so that you can see and get
the tools that are readily available to you now.

Spam and Viruses In Your Inbox!

Are you tired of getting unsolicited messages in your inbox? They all seem so authentic and harmless but they do spawn spyware and viruses that cause major problems with your computer.

Email as a means of communication has become more of a hinderance than a helpful way to communicate with your friends, famaily and business associates. ISP's have placed so many ways that they can protect you from spam and viruses that they make it almost impossible to communicate freely.

I have found a way to communicate with anyone without the worry of those invasions. It is called QMTP. Quikonnex offers you your own private QMTP (private messenger). Get yours today.

No spam, no junk email, no spyware, no viruses.

My Home Town - A Long Time Ago!!

A long time ago in 1940 I was born in my Home Town of Dansville, New York. It was and is nestled in the beautiful Genesee Valley where the grass is green in the Spring, Family reunions, picnics and fun things in the Summer, the leaves change to a golden color in the Fall and ground turns white with snow in the wintertime.

My home town a long time ago about 1790 the first settlers began moving in to the area. One of the early settlers was Captain Dan Faulkner, storekeeper and militia leader. The Village of Dansville was named after Captain Faulkner, from my recollection was first called Dan's Village.

A long time ago from 1800 to the 1870's the village flourished with flour mills and saw mills springing up along the creeks. Locals fought in the war of 1812, the first newspaper "Village Chronicle" was established.

A long time ago in my home town around 1840 the Dansville branch of the Genesee Valley Canal was completed doubling the village population. The Town of North Dansville was established and the Village of Dansville was incorporated. In 1850 half of the village was destroyed by fire.

A long time ago in my home town around 1870 Clara Barton came to Dansville and stayed for about 10 years. About 1880 Chaper No. 1, American Red Cross was founded in Dansville.

You see there is a lot of history in My Home Town as there is in everyones home town.

Why Do I Need to Backup My Files?

Backup should be an essential part of your computing experience if you spend great amounts of time on your computer and/or use your computer for important personal or business dealings.

Because of the many ways that spyware and viruses can take over your computer it is very important to backup all of your files and data.

There are many ways to perform a backup of your data such as using [backup software] which is available almost anywhere on the [Internet]. You can also place it in a zip file and encrypt it so that only you can get to it.

I backup my files and data on a regular basis by putting that information on a cd and I store it in a safe place.

What do you need to backup?

  • website updates

  • traffic exchange information

  • downloaded software

  • program information

You need to also backup your website that is sitting on a server that hosts you website. You ask why is this important and why do I have to do it.

Well, if the server where your site is happens to go down and they loose everything, your site is no longer available until the server comes back. If you have performed a backup of your complete website on the server, you will be ready to upload it back to the server. You have spent many hours getting your website so that you can promote your product or service. Would you want to start again from scratch?

So, backup, backup, backup and backup some more.

Most importantly, no matter what method you use, store your backup in a safe place where it is readily available when you need it.

How many of you use a safe desposit box to store all of your valuables (jewelry, last will and testament, important documents, etc.)? Why don't you do the same with your files and data on your computer?

We are sometimes oblivious of the deviation and theft of personnal information that we don't think that it can happen to us. Spyware and viruses are the means of some to steal our identity by putting things on our computer for that purpose. It is done without our knowledge.

You say how can this happen. If you have ever downloaded anything to your computer from the Internet you are at risk. If you spend any amount of time on the Internet you will sometime find it necessary to completely reinstall your operating system because a virus or spyware wiped out your hard drive.

Are you ready for the inevitable?

Why Is Everything About Politics?

Since when did it become necessary to place blame or point fingers when a major disaster strikes? I don't remember reading anything in the United States Constitution, Bill of Rights, State Constitutions saying that we Shall first blame someone before we get to the business of dealing with the disaster no matter how big or small it may be.

Hurrican [Katrina] was a major storm that devistated the States of [Louisiana], [Mississippi] and [Alabama]. Did you hear about any finger pointing or the placing of blame about the recovery efforts in [Mississippi] or [Alabama]?  I haven't, but maybe that is because I live in [Louisiana].

The city of [New Orleans] was flooded by the hurricane. The evacuation plan for this city has been in effect for more than about 10 years. This plan gives the Mayor of New Orleans the power to evacuate the city when it is imminent that a catagory 3 storm is going to come ashore.

Katrina was a catagory 1 when it came around the southern tip of Florida and increased to a catagory 5 after a few days in the Gulf of Mexico. I firmly believe that the residents of [Orleans Parish] and the surrounding [Parishes] felt that this was just another storm that would turn at the last moment and miss [Louisiana]. When I lived in Florida and a Hurrican was about to hit the Florida coast we moved to higher ground.

It has been said that the [Red Cross] had plenty of water and food to sustain the evacuees that were housed in the Superdome but they were told not to bring it in because the city wanted people to leave the city of [New Orleans]. If this is the case why didn't the Mayor, get the school buses and load up people instead of forcing them to walk to or get to the Superdome by any means possible.  These buses were available for this evacuation 4 days prior to the storm coming ashore.

So whose fault is it that this great city is in this condition?

Let's forget the finger pointing and placing blame and get these people in the coastal states the help and resources they need to get their lives back together.

If anyone wnats to help they can contact The American Red Cross at 1-800-Help Now or visit redcross.org

The Eye of The Storm - 20 to 30 miles is the difference.

Katrina was her name.

Had hurricane Katrina stayed the course the 10 to 15,000 people housed in the Louisana Superdome would not have gotten the busses to take them to the Houston AstroDome.

You see the original course  was about 20 miles to the West.

Orleans Parish is under water and they are saying that it will take at least 30 days to pump out the water.  Water in the city is 20 feet deep. Residents will not be able to return for sometime due to the flooding.

Had the eye of the storm come ashore 20 to the West it would have, by some predictions taken up to 6 months to pump out the water.

Power won't be restored for quite some time. Schools won't start again until possibly December 1.

I live in Monroe Louisana which is North of New Orleans about a 5 hour drive. As the storm progressed through Gulfport and Biloxi Mississippi wrecking havoc on the beaches where the casinos are moored in the bay. At least two of the casinos were inland about 5 blocks and virtually destroyed.

I drive for a Limo service that transport railroad crews to their trains. I was taking 2 crews to Livonia, Louisiana which is Northwest of New Orleans. As we were traveling south on route 165 in Louisiana one of the crew members said, it is amazing that only 60 to 80 miles to the East of us Katrina was moving North through Mississippi.

Residents evacuated to Northern Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas. These people will be living in civic centers, shelters and tent cities for quite sometime until they can return to their homes.
