Lifes Ups and Downs

2005-08-24 Posted at 01:29:27 AM

The past two weeks have been part of the downs of life.  We recently buried a member of our family.  Part of this article is a remembrance of his life.

Myron you had such a rye, dry sense of humor...loved sarcasm, a good intellectual dual, challenges to your thinking and that of others.  You cared well for your family and were rightfully proud of the accomplishments of your children.  You never forgot your humble roots and contributed much to your circle in this world...service to our country, service to friends and neighbors...lots of laughter, shared sorrows, laughter, resources.  Your children and grandchildren will miss your firm guidance and staunch conservative bent...you did well and now you are eternally with the universe.

Yesterday was my mothers birthday.  We will soon remember the anniversary of her death.

Now to a more upbeat theme!

Today we celebrated my grandson Henry's birth with a family dinner.  He is nineteen and still finding himself.  His brother Austen is in the hospital, so was unable to be with us.  They are 16 months apart and just about like siamese twins. The evening was nevertheless one of mirth and celebration. We experienced the humor and courage of his close friend, Will, who is paralyzed from the neck down...result of a rollover in a jeep a couple of years ago.  This kid is full of positive energy.

Thanks for the blessing of joy!
