Hi. My name is Glenda Schloff. I live in beautiful Coos Bay on the coast of southern Oregon.
Our 5th Wheel

At the age of 48 I taught myself how to use the computer (took to it like a duck to water! :>) )... and now, a few years later I consider myself fairly knowledgeable. Always learning though, it's neverending.

I have two dogs, a SmoothCoat Chow Chow and a Pekingnese, both rescued. They're my babies.

I had tropical fish tanks before moving into a 37 foot fifth wheel to live. I miss them, but sure don't miss cleaning their tanks, ha!
I love to read, and research. I'm an avid book collector of varied subjects. I'm also an eclectic collector of all kinds of things. Love garage sales and 'really' love BOGO sales! LOL!

I love to crochet and want to do arts and crafts and learn how to make wire jewelry, my own planters and birdbaths. I love gardening too.

I have a guitar and a 5 string banjo, but don't know how to play either one of them. sigh...someday.......

I'm married 20 years this July to a great guy who is a Boom Truck Operator for a RailRoad Bridge Repair Crew who travels all over the United States. My goal is to earn enough money from my internet business to bring him home off the road. I am determined that that will be this year!

Our Big Scare!!

2005-06-17 @ 12:57:37 AM

Night before last, we in Coos Bay, Oregon and all up and down the coast had a big scare.

Coos Bay Coast

Off the coast of California around Crescent City an 7.0 or 7.4 magnitude earthquake happened and we were warned there might be a Tsunami!

I didn't know anything about it until the next morning, and I was a bit upset.  We didn't hear any warning sirens at all.  We had our televisions turned too low to hear the warning over tv.  Friends told us that they were told to get off of the beaches, they weren't even allowed to gather any of their belongings that they had with them.

An hour later, they announced we had nothing to worry about.  But I'm upset that we didn't have a better warning system in place.  I sure hope after this scare that there will be a much better way of warning all of us.

It's really scary for someone that is petrified of the water.  I almost drowned when I was 10 years old with my mom.  Needless to say, I've never learned to swim.  Course I know in a Tsunami I wouldn't be able to anyway, but you get the gist.

Now I'm wondering if we made the right decision by moving to the coast. I told my husband we should start saving to move a bit further inland and quite a bit higher, LOL!  Can you tell I'm a big 'fraidy cat?

Attention Team!

2005-06-16 @ 05:35:04 PM

Hey Team!

Wake Up! You joined my team to learn and to earn, correct? Then you need to come to our classes!
They are very informative and fun!

I've sent you emails, I've sent you newsletters but haven't heard anything from you. Maybe you'll see this and decide
to join me in the conference room. Here's the link to our schedule (all times are Eastern):
http://www.moneylegs.com/cgi-bin/refer.cgi?4445&page=BHGringnew

Blogs are really great because you can write about anything you wish. You can talk about your pets, or your garden,
your hobbies or your life, etc. You can also post pictures. You can use words in a blog that will not pass the spam filters in
email. For instance:

subscribe, free traffic, FREE, profit, sell, money, make money, income, buy, free marketing, etc., etc.

Like my friend Joe
says: "If you are on my TEAM and you haven't heard from me it's probably because
you either don't read your email or you don't get the email I send or you don't respond to my emails."

Also taking a page from Joe's blog, I am going to be posting to my BlogEstates blog occasionaly.
Maybe you'll get my messages to you this way, whaddaya think? This way you'll see it while you
are surfing, it'll be pretty hard to ignore won't it? LOL. This is a great way to communicate
isn't it?

You've missed today's class, but there are many more scheduled. Please come and learn!
What you learn in our classes can open doors for you in many ways.

Here is the class schedule: http://www.moneylegs.com/cgi-bin/refer.cgi?4445&page=BHGringnew

I'll be looking for you! :)

p.s.  Another friend of mine, Bob, has some tips for you also.

Please Beware!

2005-06-13 @ 12:46:02 PM

I want to tell you all about an experience I had recently.

I received a telemarketing call from Affordable Health Choice wanting me to join their HealthCare Advantage program. (http://www.healthcareadvantage.com) This is a medical savings plan, not an insurance plan.

Affordable Health Choice signs you up with HealthCare Advantage.

The way they explained things to me, this would have saved us over $1,000 per year compared to our medical insurance premium deductions from my husbands checks. We could then cancel the medical insurance with his employer.

But...after signing up I started thinking: "What if we were diagnosed with a terminal disease or something catastrophic happened?" So I called HealthCare Advantage to ask if that was included or if they had a policy to cover those things. They told me that they didn't believe so and that I should contact Affordable Health Choice and ask them if they offered catastrophic policies. So I did, and they said no.

I told HealthCare Advantage that if they 'did not' have a catastrophic policy that as much as I hated our medical insurance company through my husbands employer that I would be cancelling. They said I had to cancel through Affordable Health Choice since they signed me up.

I called Affordable Health Choice and explained things to them for about the 6th time and cancelled. They told me that I should be receving a refund of the first installment I had paid, plus the most recent payment from HealthCare Advantage whick came to $285 altogether.

Both companies keep telling me to call the other one! One hand doesn't know what the other is doing.

Well, HealthCare Advantage REFUSES to refund me our money. So in essence it's like I just went up to a stranger on the street and said: "Here, here's $285 for you!"

I don't think it is right or ethical or fair and I want my money refunded and back into our checking account. Since they are refusing, I am now going to contact an attorney through a program I belong to and I'm also going to contact:

Our state Attorney General, our local and national newspapers and I'm going to call our radio and television stations to let them know so that they can warn their audiences. $285 may not be a lot of money to a lot of people, but it is one months space rent for me.

HealthCare Advantage has, in essence, stolen that money from me.

So I thought I would warn all of my internet friends about this. Please make SURE you know all of what they cover and what they don't, write down names, dates, time of day and case numbers of anyone you talk to. Record the calls if you can.

Please wish me luck in getting my money refunded, it's going to be a hassle!

Sophie 'n' Bear

2005-06-08 @ 02:50:57 AM

I thought you all would like to see my babies.

Sophie Sophie is my little 4 year old female Pekingese that someone had just dumped up on the mountain and left her. The park Ranger found her and took her to my groomer. My groomer called me and said: "You just have to come and see this little girl."  So I did and took one look at her and said: "She's mine!" She makes me laugh every day. She's so cute and playful. She only has 3 teeth now. Her previous owner didn't take proper care of her at all. She also has a slipped disc in her back so I have to be very careful that Bear doesn't play too rough with her. He weighs 56 1/2 pounds and she's only about 12 1/2 pounds. Anyway, she's precious to me.

Bear Bear is a SmoothCoat Chow Chow and is a big baby. His previous owner lived in the mountains and was on drugs. She would chain him up outside of her trailer on a very short leash and leave him for days at a time. He had just enough room to get under the trailer to get out of the heat.

A neighbor (a friend of ours) took Bear for walks now and then and made sure he had food and water. But he and his wife had a small baby and pets of their own to take care of so he finally told Bears owner that he was going to find a good home for Bear or he would put him down. She gave her permission because she knew she couldn't take proper care of him.

I had had to euthanize my previous two dogs about 8 months previous and really didn't want any more animals. I still had two cats and my fish tanks and that was enough. I asked my friend how big this dog was because I preferred small dogs. He says: "Not very big at all". So I said: "ok, I'll take a look at him".

Well, when I saw him, he was much bigger than I had wanted, but he desparately needed some TLC. He had big globs of hair hanging off of him. He stared straight ahead and was very aloof.

I took him home that afternoon and all day and night kept hugging him and telling him how beautiful he is. The next morning, he woke me up with his head on my chest and looked me right in the eyes. I took him to my groomer that day and he just strutted when he came out of the shop. He was sooooo beautiful!! He's been "my" dog ever since. I just adore him. He was a year and a half when I got him and is now 4 1/2, spoiled rotten and dearly loved. :)

So now I have two rescued purebred dogs that I got for free! No papers, but who cares? I'm not interested in showing them and couldn't now anyway. I had them both spayed and neutered and I love them just for them and as my loving companions.

Hope you like them!
