2007-08-23 Seriously!
I thought I should tell you about some of those 100 jobs or you would think I was just spooffing you The one I did before I posted the last blog was killing flies! Now don't laugh because killing flies is a big job! This summer for some reason they seem to have their own special door into the house. So they all say to each other, ' let's go in and drive Patricia nuts.'. I was killeng flies a few of days ago and when I was done I layed the fly swatter down Two days ago, do you think I could find it? I tried killing them with a rolled up newspaper but every time I swatted one it would disappear and then come back and land on me. I doubt if I hit 2 or 3 flies all day! Well yesterday it started all over again. I still couldn't find the swatter. My eye happened to fall on my husband's back scratcher. ( Don't get ahead of me.) It has a long handle and is shaped like a hand at the end with fingers. Ok I'm going to try this, I am desperate. You know what? It worked like a charm. I know it was because it fooled those flies. If you ever have to deal with flies you know that as soon you pick up a fly swatter there isn't a fly in sight! That is the honest truth! Just try it some time. Anyway, they weren't expecting a back scratcher. They were used to seeing it hanging on its hook or sticking out of the back of my husband's shirt like a another appendage. Ok now, to get back to the work part. I eliminated all but a couple of flies. I'm telling you there were dozens of flies to kill. I would kill 5 and 10 more would appear. I bet I spent 15 to 30 minutes trying to get them all. Well I decided,' this was enough, one last fly and then I have to post to my blog.' . Oops! Don't tell my husband but his back scratcher has a missing finger! Do you think he will notice? Nah-h. Just wait and see. I'll let you know if he does. Haven't heard anything yet today. By the way I finally found my fly swatter or one of them anyway. My sewing machine and stand are in the same room as my computer. I guess I layed it down on the chair because the flies bug me when I'm on the computer. In the mean time I must have layed some sewing on the back of the chair which covered up the swatter. I'm afraid the sewing usually has to wait for a blue moon. Good thing I was doing some picking up, I don't know when the next blue moon is! O, I do have two swatters and that is the one I usually use, the other one I'm sure those flies picked it up and hid it on me. Seriously! Patricia Downing |
