The Bear Necessities

Have you ever wondered

Hello
Have you ever wondered how you make teddy bears or even had the urge to make them yourself?
After many years of teddy manufacture I thought it was time to impart some of the inner secrets of bear manufacture. I'm sure I have information that you could use lurking in the far reaches of my mind.

I am going to split the info up into small bits, so anyone who wants to can post, or ask questions, as to 'how?' or 'what if?'. I would like all of you who read these articles to feel free to email or post questions. Maybe you need to finish that bear you started to make years ago and run out of steam, or just don't know how to proceed.
We're going to have a section on old bears and if I, or my Partner, can help then we will certainly try our best.

Ok, lets get cracking
I suppose the first thing you really want to decide is what sort of bear do you want to make, e.g. large, small, medium, soft, cuddly, keep-sake, collector bear - the choice goes on.
Basically, to make any bear you would start with the same process, so begin by choosing what type you want.

Peter, your partner's so cute, I just want to hug him! I did start a bear about 20 years ago when a friend of mine was into it. I wonder where I put that little bugger...
