Mindset Decides Success RatioWell here it is Wednesday and I am late posting the Tuesday File posted again. Funny how the days of the week sneak up on you when you are sooo busy and having fun doing it.:0)) How anyone can tell me they have no clue as to how to keep good content flowing in a Blog is beyond me. Just going thru my e-mail gives me enough topics to fill a year of Blog entries. The issue of course, is to choose the topics that best educate and encourage you to move forward in your business. The entries in the Tuesday Blog this week, all deal with the one major reason you will fail or succeed in your on line efforts at building your own successful business. MINDSET! Mindset is a power word that needs its own private box, draped in red velvet as a direct warning to all who read it. Why? Because your mindset will make you or break you. Read on and give your self a pat on the back for NOT stumbling into some of these mindsets and DAS BOOT for being guilty. The nice thing tho is you can always change your focus and direction for the better. Sometimes we just are not aware of what we are doing to ourselves. Integrity Will Always Win - Hands Down!Unless you are deaf, dumb, and blind, it is hard to miss the arguments for down line integrity in our forum, conferences and in other places on the net. No matter what you and I may think personally of this raising the devil's head, integrity will ALWAYS win - hands down! The question is simple. Are you willing to work your heart out tryng to build contact lists, downline subscribers, and your business knowing some admin will deliberately go over your head and promote their affiliate links to YOUR subscribers BEFORE you even get a chance to sign up for them? Should they be allowed to 'steal' from you? or ... The new twist seems to be to give these products away. I'm not going into their reasoning here but it does raise the question, are they finding it equally as hard to get a rise out of their membership lists as you and I are? Do they have to package their skills, or lack of them, in some fancy box cover with a grabbing headline that says you know you can't resist owning something so valuable from such a successful marketer. And OMG, can you believe it - it is free? It really is NOT the free that grabbed you. It is the obscurity of grasping at what you do not know, of giving it credence or power to make you want to have it. Of making you pass judgement on what you do not know or understand, you just gotta have it. You, dear reader, in your hunger to know, judged profound that which they offered you and its very obscurity created the awe necessary for you to go get it. The Power of Expectation and Perceived JudgementThere is a very valuable lesson in that profound expectation of your action to have what you judged powerful. It lies at the heart and soul of why you are so easily distracted - unable to focus on what you do need, to be tempted to grasp at what you do not need that detracts you from concentrating on sucessfully building your business. Your readers add another argument to this chain. Do you provide light or heavy HTML sends? Heavy HTML sends are image filled to suit your copy. While imagery in fun e-mails make the day and can be appealing, imagery in business e-mails can be totally distracting and could turn your viewer away. You need a good balance of graphics and text or the spam filters will get you. In many cases, users turn off HTML as well as attachments in their mail servers. As a result, your lovely html e-mail can end up looking terrible without the color and imagery you worked so hard to include. Not all HTML mails are created equal, nor will they perform the same way. Light HTML sends only include the barest minimum of imagery or color to distract your reader, yet with graphics turned off, your e-mail bites the dust again. NOT all subscribers will give you a heads up on their choice of HTML or plain text,even though its offered to them. One test or theory that may bear weight for the success of your e-mail sends, is to use HTML sparingly in respect to the occasional contextual link and maybe a relevant image that adds to the message content. Simply put, that means creating truncated [short with link to the rest of the story .] No matter what tests you run, content is king and will always matter most to your reader. If your content value is sparse then you will not get nor keep the audience you seek. Getting the picture as to what it could cost you per customer you bring in? How much time do you have to call 100 people per week if you set that goal of at least ONE conversion per week? Instead of that big mother of a payment to join them, they are going to make you a deal that is even better than three or so payments over the next few months. The Law of Subtraction - Negativity Impedes Business Success FormulaWould you be shocked if you talked to say 100 marketers about contact list building or bringing in new prospects and they told you they had already talked to everyone they knew with little or no success? Now that sounds like the Law of Subtraction at work to me. That may be their reality as they see it but what is the truth? If we go by the concept that everyone knows at least 250 people in their circle of influence, and those 250 know 250 more, it is not logical that any marketer has talked to everyone they know. Nor is it logical that they ever will have the opportunity in their lifetime to talk to everyone they know. Such marketing negativity impedes business success formulas every day of the week. The Law of Subtraction says that if you can validate your lack of success then you do not have to take personal responsibilty for it. If your excuse is good enough, then you can blame the company, the opportunity, the lack of training or suport, as long as it is not you or your lack of real effort that is causing you this pain. For every 10 people you speak to about the secrets to your success, all of them will listen with open ears to what you are saying. However, ONLY ONE will take it to heart and follow your expertise. The other nine will be figuring out ways to find supportive information on why it won't work for them. Is it mind over matter that their subsconscious sabatoges their efforts? They attended your training courses to learn something that would help them. Eager participants but poor on the follow through? I have a friend who loves to shop for bargains but won't shop at the best food store for miles around because they do not approve of the people they see in there shopping. My son who will look for the butter in the fridge and not see it until I point out again where it is. Until his eyes focus on the message his brain is sending, all is lost. We all have phobias. We all have excuses for what we will or will not do. For some it is the belief that money is the root of all evil so they sabatoge their ability to honestly make the income they are totally deservant of. The best you can do, is seriously look at your numbers. For your own sake understand that the income you deserve will be created by a select number of subscribers who are serious. When you have those numbers at hand, and you do your presentations to a prospect, then their understanding of who you are, where you are and how you got to this set of figures should induce them to follow you. For the rest? Move on, keep presenting and try NEXT when you run into the owner of the Law of Subtraction. Their negativity will supply their excuse for impeding their business success formula. Kwality Korner Tuesday File Oct 2, 2007Web Development That challenges ViewersEver opened a web page to have the contents spill all over the page rather than hold their positon?In the early nineties, web development was not concerned about much more than that the content be "backward compliant" which, in essence, meant could be used with a 4.0 browser or higher. And of course, the browsers of the day were Internet Explorer and Navigator. Times are steadily changing even if consistency in web development skills can still be worked upon. What has not been changed is our affordability factor in the monitor sizes we use and our personal choice of screen resolution. I want to see what I am looking at. MY personal monitor is a 17" because it is comfortable to work with and I am not as yet spoiled by an over-sized flat screen that seems to shove the idea of a television screen in my face. So MY resolution for comfort and less eye strain is good old 800x600 which means I am a dinosaur user if you see what I see when I look at some web sites. The point here? If a web page you are trying to view is all over the place on you, and you are not happy with what you are seeing, then blame the web developer for 50% of the issue and simply right click on a blank spot on your desktop, choose PROPERTIES, then SETTINGS tab and move the settings slider over to at least 1024x678. Now that you know this trick, and how adjust the page or how to put your settings back to your comfort level, if the page you need to view is that important, then such a simple adjustment can be made accordingly. ***###***$$$***###***$$$***
Design Tips & TricksWorking In Nvu: I hate bordered work or text shoved right up against the left margin almost as much as I find deep colored background colors can hurt your viewer's eyes. Bordered usually means I am going to be treated to a neck-swivelling experience and I will have to scroll back and forth to read the content.You can make your work look good with out all this distraction. Simply keep border="0" cellspacing="0" and keep the text from crowding the left margin with a simple cellpadding="12" You can use less but I like my left margin to look like it belongs so 12 pixels does it for me. Play with what you like to see the effect. Keep the text copy no more than 4" for comfort reading and choose your background colors in pale colors or greys to help make your reader experience enjoyable. ***###***$$$***###***$$$***
Kill The Messenger? Do you have MS Live Messenger installed on your computer? Do you have the latest updated Yahoo installed? Or are you a Skype or ICQ user by preference? If you use the Web 2.0 or any of the social communities as part of your daily business, prospect searches or just to chat with family and friends, then you will use the IM chat of your own choice. My personal choice for safe use and for the extras like phone to phone that works, conference rooms and the fact the message left is archived if my reader makes a little boo-boo, is good old Yahoo. I do have MS Messenger on board as well. What you can never depend on is everyone settling for one particular IM no matter what YOUR preferenc is. Nor can you count on them having kept it updated and most importantly having a security system on their computer that protects them from attack virus or otherwise. Few users understand that ALL chat forms are spyware to your security. Because the web is International, you will also run into restrictions as to what IM your new member is allowed to use both from a monetary standpoint of being charged to use certain ones, to it being illegal for others. So irregardless of what YOU prefer to use, try to give your new member a choice of what suits country, personal preference and sometimes even legalities. That's it for the Tuesday File ...
