Positive ThinkingDoes it really work?2005-06-06Short and SweetDear Blog I have to spend some time on motivating myself as I've neglected it the last few days. I think my subconscious is seriously trying to undermine me. I found myself filled with doubt today, even though I had no reason to. Unfortunately what we think and feel reflect in the way we act, so today was not one of my better days. So back to the mental and other exercises I go! Fortunately each day is a new beginning and a new chance to do better than yesterday! The message was so simple, yet in a strange way it fascinated me. "Believe that you can do something and you will do it". What always bothered me about this was the fact that I have believed I could do many things, but I still didn't manage to do it when it came to the crunch. It wasn't until I read another book that I realized where I went wrong. It doesn't help to just think positive thoughts, you actually have to believe that you are worthy of what you believe in. Does that make sense? Not only that, you also have to actively visualize whatever it is you believe you can obtain. For instance, if you believe that you should have the car of your dreams and that you deserve it, you must tell your subconscious mind the exact make, model, color etc. PLUS you must add a deadline for when you will own this car. I'm using a car as example, but this goes for anything. So now, for a little experiment. Take some time to decide what it is you want. Write it down in detail, make, model, color, mags, dvd player, everyting that you want. Add the date you will own it. Then, sit for 15 minutes and visualize it, visualize yourself driving it etc. Read your card every day and do the visualization exercise everyday. Don't worry about how you're going to get it, just do it! Obviously you have to be realistic. Saying that you will have it the day after tomorrow might not work, but on the other hand, who knows? Positive (and negative) thinking has strange ways. Till next time! Have a great day! I would like to offer my condolences to his family, friends and all those people, who like me, didn't know him personally but got a lot of inspiration from him. Although I'm very sad, I believe he fulfilled what he had to do on earth and is save and happy. From personal experience, I tend to think that's very, very true. Why then, do so many of my friends and family not believe in it? Could I be wrong? I'm at the stage where I have to call in the troops. Those people I don't know. I would like to get the opinion of the world out there. I'm convinced that positive thinking works and now I have that bee in my bonnet to prove it to everybody I know. To do that I need to do a few experiments. Calling all thinkers! Are you willing to help me? Hoping for a (positive) response! Regards Marlene
