The Year of Positive Change! Goodbye 2006 - Hello 2007

The Year of Positive Change! Goodbye 2006 - Hello  2007

HAPPY NEW YEAR - may 2007 be joyous, healthy and prosperous for you.

I was talking with a friend earlier on im and he asked me what I was up to.

While I feel this day belongs to  renewing old acquaintances, bonding with neglected family members and friends, there is also a little space for me. So I was online going over a few items of interest.

Thus I will share with you what I told him.

This is my day for reflection on the $$ I have made in  2006, the progress of my business directions and what I did or did not accomplish.  The lists and details will come later.  Right now I need to think and assess changes I will need to make. However this turns out, one needs to expect change in business direction.

I am NOT NEW as an internet marketer but I am not exactly the raving success story either.  Most of this conundrum can be placed squarely on MY shoulders for neglecting a few important corners in my online business strategies.

They were there, prominent and proven, I was not.  I was off on some tangent of changing a spoke or two and ended up with a broken axle on my wheel.

This is not the day to go there but rather the day to pause and reflect on how I can change the old into yielding more in the new. So first I have to have a real hard heart-to-heart talk with my ego and make a few lists of what really is vs what I expected these things to be.

While I am doing that, I can report a couple of good things that will happen in 2007.

1. I Quit Smoking

I have smoked since I was 15 years old. Bad karma. I did quit once before for almost 10 years then started up again.  It was easier in those days as nicotine was regulated in the sense that companies were not struggling to meet their profit margins. Today, a little extra tar and nicotine will make your efforts to quit not only harder  but just a tad on the painful side.

I started my project in October to quit smoking for 2007.  The last month or so I have been down to one cigarette per day.  So hey that means an easy quit yes?  What am I doing, selling myself a bill of goods that I need that cigarette?  Cut to the chase, cut it out period!

Quitting smoking should be an easy change so go for it!

That  is where cigarette companies get us heart patients but big time good.  We cannot use patches and quick fix nicotine inhalors. They would kill us faster than smoking ever could.  We are the last line in hard time quitters and we pay for it in lung burning, an increase in asthma and extreme pain when we dump that last cigarette.

I never knew I even had any level of asthma.  It runs in my family, but I always felt the lucky one not to have been bothered with it.   Seems age and circumstance can surely change that picture.

For the last three nights, I have walked the floor, sat sitting up all night sipping water, using puffers and even a swat or two more of my angina meds.  Finally, I think I have the sucker beat!

While the total pain has not disappeared, while my unstable angina tends to rear its miserable head a bit more often, it is getting less and less of a bother.

To help me keep my focus on quitting, I put a higher purpose in front of my eyes which leads me to personal benefit number 2.

2. At $10 a package, one pack per day, I think I just found my marketing budget for 2007.  Now that is good news and a great way to make a major success change for 2007 that should pay off handsomely.

Hmm maybe a third plus here?  A smoke free house, new furniture and a major interior decoration project to make sure that 30 years of accumulated smoke is gone?

I can live with that.
