Goodby Year 2005- Was Your Year successful?

Goodbye Year 2005 -Was Your Business Successful?

No one understands best the need to assess your online business

Did you make all your goals?

Did you create a business strategy to begin with?

Time passes faster then we think, and once the days roll by there is no way to recapture their value when none was assessed.

If year 2005 started out with a financial negative balance sheet and ends up the same way, then you have work to do.

Business is more than setting goals for the business, it is setting goals for you, that you are willing to commit to.  For instance the necessary follow up with new clients, customers and leads all begins with the necessary follow through by you in order to carry out the needs to convert your prospect.

What that means is you need a business plan. Then you need a system of steps that are simple, straight forward and easy to carry out.

Breaking the over all business plan into smaller reachable goals means you are more likely to follow each step through to completion.

Oh and not leave out one very important step? Do take the time to celebrate the accomplishment of each goal?  That will build your confidence and you will see the results you are looking for  a whole lot faster.

From our house to your house ..

May 2006 be YOUR year

On the Lighter Side

Change that Pays - New Quarter Alert

Hang on to any of the new Newfoundland quarters.  If
you have them, they may be worth much more than 25
cents.

The Canadian Mint announced today that it is recalling
all of the Newfoundland quarters that are part of its
program featuring quarters from each province.

"We are recalling all the new Newfoundland quarters
that were recently issued," Canadian Mint Deputy
Minister Jack Shackleford said Monday. "This action is
being taken after numerous reports that new quarters
will not work in parking meters, toll booths, vending
machines, pay phones, or other coin-operated devices."

The quarters were issued in the order in which the
various provinces joined Confederation and have been a
tremendous success among coin collectors worldwide.

"The problem lies in the unique design of the
Newfoundland quarter, which was created by a team of
Newfoundlanders,"  Shackleford said. "Apparently, the
duct tape holding the two dimes and the nickel together
keeps jamming up the machines."

Marketing in 2006- Making Changes

Marketing in 2006- Making Changes

If you are anything like me, the beginning of any New
Year begins with a
serious look at change.

Internet marketing, methods, systems, training,
promotion, publishing,
online business skill sets - and
a lot more come under scrutiny.  These
items all appear
seasonal in one respect and are in a constant state of
change.

It isn't so much how to begin, but where to begin.  What
is it that seriously
needs changing?

So I put it to you.  What tears your hair out?  This is what
everyone is
throwing at you in every piece of online
marketing mail:

  •     "Copy is king!" cry the copywriters.
  •     "Advertise or die!" shout the ad sites.
  •     "Joint ventures are it!" proclaim the JV "brokers"

So who is right and who is full of hot air?   Where will the
changes in 2006
marketing business plans you have take
you?

Let me know what you think.

Forcing The New Year Resolutions

Forcing The New Year Resolutions

If no one has taken the time to wish you a VERY Happy New  Year - then here it is - HAPPY  NEW YEAR - God bless you and yours - and may 2006 swarm you with  successful business ventures.

This has been a FRAN week .  What that means is I have 600 things to do and 599 are top priority.  My mind is on overdrive and the that means the results are chaotic  at best.

Jan 1 Sunday Happy New Year!

How did I ever spend all those years preparing for family to descend - friends to gather -  and prepare the feast to follow?  Being a little older, maybe not wiser, but certainly smart enough to pass the New Years day festivities on to others, I want to crawl back into bed and recover from the festivities of seeing the New Year in.

On a personal note, if you have not checked out cherry shooters combined with Kaluha and Baileys, then do yourself a favor -  don't.

New Year's Resolution #1 - NEVER say never again.

Jan 2, Monday

Recovery is a slow process at my age.  I'm in a grouchy mood. The holidays were ripe with philosophies on Happy Holidays, or Merry Christmas or whatever turns your crank.  For my two cents, be politically correct on your own time.

I love it when people are real, ready to stand on their principles  and support their beliefs without fear of reprisal.  I am an adult with a good mind, open to change within reason and quite able to make up my own mind on what feels good to me. Sometimes I even think I am christian at heart.  Go figure.

So far, my best New Year resolution is to tell the soap box crowd to get stuffed!

Jan 3, Tuesday

Education and learning is the call of the day.  That in itself can be a great New Year's resolution.  If you know something of value, educate the masses - share it.  If you need to know something that will move your business forward, learn it.  Ask for help.  Small thing to do really, with super great results.

More 2006 New Year Resolutions:

Commit -  To do, perform, or perpetrate: commit a murder. I gotta work on my patience with people who never show.  Like waste your own time please?

Committed - to place officially in confinement or custody, as in a mental health facility.

Well if it isn't your fault, it must me mine. Some days a padded  cell sounds awfully comforting.

Jan 4 Wednesday

When your sleep is haunted by things you have to do, actions you should have in hand and internalized messages of get your butt in gear, then you better listen up.  The sleep you lose may be your own.

Personally, I enjoy a totally uninterupted sleep and that includes trips to the loo. If you have the secret to this conundrum, please pass it on?

There is this driving need to create an official plan for 2006.  I am beginning to understand why no one ever does this with much success.

The longer you have been online, the more you realize that if you are to have a successful year in business, you better have a plan - a series of reachable goals and you better be committed [see committed above] to following them.

New year Resolution:  Follow up is what you do with a new customer/client.  Follow through is what you do to make your contact and business a success.  Get with the picture - this is the year of follow through.

January 5 Thursday

Yee Haw!!! [Now doesn't that sound really professional? ] I did it! With the help of  my very creative partners, I put together a campaign to get our business in gear.

NOT a one year plan, not a five year plan but a simple effective campaign that we can test and work out the bugs for the next round.  Mind you, it is full of holes, needs flushing out and getting down in detail, but that campaign is there and it brings on that feel good  feeling.  We're on a roll!

Commit to one step and positive action is bound to follow.

We followed through and that lead to a bit of an education using powerpoint, and we set up a five year plan for the future of our business.  Now that is following through on  a grand scale.

January 6 Friday

[The best laid plans of mice and men ...]
While our philosophy is based on teamwork, that does not mean there is an automatic  forward motion in our plans.  Sometimes it is the mundane that gets in the road and other times it is mixed up with rules beyond your control.  Mix that up with life issues, and your teamwork can suddenly grind to a halt.

Oh well, sometimes there is a need to slow down and taste the coffee.  Is balding really a decision between room for brains or hair?  Is it really a condition suffered by men only?

Next New Year resolution:

Make sure your time management plans incorporate enough space to deal with the unforseen.  Do not tie yourself down to an absolute time frame.

Jan 7 Saturday

It's the weekend. Time to kick back and take a breather.  The grey cells scream for relief and the tired aching shoulders beg to try a new positon that does not include a computer chair.

It's also time to post this blog entry. If something in this entry made you think, laugh a bit, or somehow touched a nerve, then let me know your feelings.  Post a comment and let's  live a little.

Success is a journey -  be sure to plan the road trip and get started.
