Not a warning

Hello %NAME,

You may have heard about that recent deadly virus, but what you haven't heard of is that there is an even worse virus that hasn't been discovered. Microsoft hasn't said anything but I'm sure they would have if a really deadly virus as bad as the one that hasn't been discovered had been found, and whoa, it'd be so bad there wouldn't be a cure or anything!

So if you get a message in the next few days saying "I am a virus, open me and infect your hard drive, KTHNX!", don't open it. Well, it's probably a joke but you probably have better things to do, you know?

Now forward this e-mail to %RAND_NUMBER people or your cat will shed hairs on your stuff and some unspecified event will be avoided. And you have to do it now otherwise stuff will happen. You know. Stuff. The sort of stuff that always happens if you don't forward a chain letter to everyone on your contacts list.

Scary huh?

OK. So yeah. Watch out for those mysteriously uber powerful viruses that you haven't heard of. The ones that haven't been discovered or mentioned anywhere.

The Internet Affiliate Solution: Blogging

I have had it to HERE with splash pages that have audio, video or flash on them. Folks let me assure you I am not the only one. While you may think GDI is a wonderful system how many times do you get past the site as fast as you could, either before you joined because you had GDI ,Fruta Vida and several other noises from web sites going?

Well I have thought of a way for you all to get your points across to people for cheap to free and spare people the noise your company provided web sites bring. This process is called Blogging.

Now before you all groan and leave think about it. Most Blogs are free or very cheap. It is a good way to network with people of like interests like goth, music, anime, movies..etc. So how does this help you sell GDI packages? It's easy and here is how.

First off your going to have to actually *GASP* STUDY the program you are trying to sell. If its GDI then you would want to know what services can you get for the $10 a month? If you can get web hosting how much space and how much bandwidth. Keep in mind this information will go into your article so while you might not fully understand it now, there are people online who do and are looking for those services every day.

Now there are two sites I will discuss here, One is Live Journal and the other is Blog Estates. I pic these two because I am a member of both and therefore know the most about them.

First we'll look at Live Journal. This is probably the easiest place to start for a couple reasons. One is it is free, so it will cost you nothing to get started with. It is very user friendly and has quite an extensive FAQ which lets you know how to everything from setting up your journal to how to add html tags. So your best be would be to go here first. Articles are not easy and therefore require practice to write. What I suggest you do is get a free word pad program with a spell checker (I use AbiWord) This will help you get used to writing and help you catch mistakes before their published. A note, keep the articles you like about your program while you are playing in Live Journal, you can repost them when you join Blog Estates.

Which brings us to Blog Estates. This a free blog as long as you keep it personal, if you wish to write articles for a business it is a whole $5 a month. Now a side note if you can't dedicate $5 a month then please move on because that is on the cheap end of the blog spectrum, they can easily go for $20. The advantage of Blog Estates is that your articles get indexed by search engines. Yes this means if you play your cards right you can have your article on GDI come up when someone goes onto Google and types in Web hosting. What does that mean? well this person will most likely take a look at the other links (of which 4 of the 10 will most likely just be affiliate links, while others might be press releases) If you have a title like "The Benefits of web hosting with GDI" and they see that odds are they will click on it since that is what they are looking for. Is it starting to sink in now?

And there is more since if you practiced a bit and have some articles ready from Live Journal you can post one a day and keep the search engines happy. Do one on the money making side of GDI, or one on what options you have to choose from to work with your GDI subscription as hosting is only one of the things they offer. With every article you can target a whole new audience eager to learn about the programs they are looking for. This will drive more people to your site and then the video won't be something they dread, it will feed the desire for knowledge that you gave them in the article, which will be done by ending them with: Would you like to learn more about (Insert Program name here) then *A href="enter your affiliate URL here" target="_blank"*Click here */a* (note replace *'s with the following < before A and /a and > after /a and blank"). This will open your affiliate site in a new window where they can look through that or go back to your blog, either way you win.

So there it is all you would have to do then if you use hit exchanges of any kind (banner/Traffic Exchange/text Exchange) is use the links for your articles and you will have their attention because you are presenting them with a program in a format they may never have come across before. And yes for those of you who like Taffic Exchanges there are some that deal specifically with Blogs such as BlogAZoo, so that option is still open.

I hope you all got something out of this article and thank you for taking the time to read it. If you would like to leave feedback you can contact me by clicking here.

The rediscovery of the De-Evolutionary Army aka DEVO

Two days ago I was browsing You Tube and happened across and oldDEVO Video called Beautiful World, a song I had never heard of.

Like most kids born in the 70's when DEVO hit it big I was not exactly concerned with them. I had heard Whip It and that's all I knew of DEVO . I learned that song by heart thanks to a K-TEL record that also included Blondie's-Tide is High and Pat Benatar's-Hit Me With Your Best Shot. Unfortunately as I said that is all of them I knew.

That changed VERY quickly. When I found the video to Beautiful World I didn't know what to expect. I was VERY surprised. The DEVO I had thought I knew as a child as being a silly group who wore flower pots on their heads, had actually written an excellent song. And the video was great to, starting out very nice and then doing a 180 with the same cheerful lyrics but different visuals. I wonder if they have thought of updating the video?

I went on to find another DEVO video called Peek A Boo. This had more of the spirit from the band I was used to with Whip It. What through me off on this one was the computer graphics. While they look stupidly simple now, they were cutting edge at one time.

Another thing that I didn't remember about DEVO is their military like precision. This is especially noticeable in Peek A Boo. It must've taken a long time to get that well in synch. DEVO is still around today, and still performing. They're lead vocalist Mark Mothersbaugh has become quit a successful film composer often employing the other members of the band. They have even spawned a kiddie pop version DEVO 2.0 which is sponsored by, of all places Disney.

So the future of the De-Evolutionary army seems secure. What will the next few years or even few decades bring? Only the Energy Dome donning DEVO seem to know and they will have fun I'm sure telling us all the answer.
