Television in the USA is a constant companion to many people.    The media is practicing free enterprise to our detriment , especially children.  Example...Drug companies are constantly advertising the latest cure for whatever in pill or capsule form...When you hear day in and day out that the answer to all your problems is a pill...the consequence for many, especially the young,becomes acceptance of simplistic solutions to complicated issues.  After all if you take a pill, you don't have to be responsible for any behavior in which you engage, let alone modification of whatever...the way you eat, how active or inactive you are, etc. What has happened to the idea that we are RESPONSIBLE for ourselves?

    Unfortunately, the FDA has been approving drugs which are NOT safe for human consumption...and is banning drug alternatives in the name of protecting the public, when you and I know that they are scratching the backs of pharmaceutical manufacturers so that they can become more wealthy.

    I am certain that not all herbal supplements are safe and yes, there are some health food manufacturers who will rip you off, but....it seems STRANGE that we are not being informed of cheaper, food cures!  We certainly are not REALLY protected from unsafe drug cures.  Looks as if MONEY is ALL that matters anymore.  GREED RULES!!!!

   Perhaps much of the problem we have with kids doing drugs is at least partially due to the underlying message they get from this constant bombardment from the MEDIA that drugs can be the end all...be all of life.
